DMack33-

I went w/ comptech solely because I didn't like how the AEM looked aesthetically...
Performance wise has been proven on the dyno to be a minimal difference between the two.. never really finished reading all the threads on this topic because performance isn't really the top priority on my list. PM me if interested.

If you live in cold weather, I'd watch the weld for the mounting bracket on the AEM. Mine cracked a month ago, now I went ghetto and duct-taped it until I get my Injen.

Thanks!!

Great feedback. Thanks. I live in cold weather so this prolly won't be the best solution. What do the majority of you guys use for intake? Again I live in cold weather. Thanks in advance.

Colorado cold. Live in Boulder county. It snows at that elevation. Can get below zero in winter and pretty hot in summer so can be a bit extreme. Hot being in the 90's.
Thanks in advance. -Dave

Just my two cents....I would get the Comptech instead. I have the Icebox now and had the AEM. The AEM does sound a bit louder, but the Icebox will give you the same gains and look stock, and it doesn't look like something is missing from the engine compartment. On top of that, the Icebox is easier to maintain. I also got a bit concerned about the possibility of hydrolock.

If you want your car to sound louder go with AEM. I have it and I love how it sounds...

The only drawback with the Icebox is the price vs. the AEM or Injen. If price isnt an issue, the Icebox would be the best choice. It still gives a nice sound, just not as loud as the CAI...but I got a great deal on an AEM V2 - so thats what route I went!

aem sucks ass. i got one for my '03 TL-S and i had to cut about 3 inches from the end so i can put the bumper back on. then i had to bend a piece of metal in the engine bay because the intake was rubbing against it. other people have had this problem as well.

so if your going to get an intake, get either the injen or the comptech.

yes they are pretty much the same. people have had problems with the AEM CAI fitting if you have foglights - havent heard of that with Injen. Though, all you have to do is cut the pipe to make the AEM fit - not a big deal.
