that's a quick race if you're in 3rd @ 75mph. You said all the way through 3rd from 75mph, right? 3rd jumps to 4th ~80mph.

no normally i can take 3rd up to around 100 or so....

the highest speed u can downshift into 3rd is @ 80mph and that puts u right @ 4800 rpm in VTEC

If you drive in SS, you can take 3rd up to about 108mph before hitting the rev limiter. When I run 1/4's I shift into 4th almost exactly the same time I cross the quarter line.

Nice run and good thing you stopped racing when you hit 4th...

Dude I wouldn't call that much of a race... If the M3 was really racing he'd kill you from any speed Sounds more like you took off, then he punched it and you hit the brakes...

I played with a '01+ M3 on my way to NJ one day and every time I tried to open it up from 55 to ~100 he pulled right up to my bumper. This was with S/C and the stock kit pulley.

nah thats not how it went down.... in the past i've raced newer gen M3's and had similar results, or had the m3 pull a little bit... u see, i wont race unless i'm @ the right speed 50mph (2nd gear) or 80mph (3rd gear) where our cars have the most pull.... as for this race, we paced eachother @ 75 we were right next to eachother... i got the jump and he followed immediately and we stayed even

Sorry but I think the driver in the M3 must have been a bad driver. An M3 01+ should seriously eat a CLS pretty easy. From what my friend's M3 proved to me when racing against a CL Type-s With Intake, Exhaust and Headers.

so you are saying from 50mph to the end of 3rd which is ~110mph, an e46 m3 can't pull on you with I/H? I find that hard to believe unless the driver sucks.
