Adios CLS :'(
Today I will be saying goodbye to my 01' PDG CLS. I bought it back in 03' as my 'bachelor' car as my wife puts it. I drive a company car (04' Toyota Tundra) for work and used my CLS on the weekends, but I got married last June and since we're gonna start a family soon, the wife and I will need something bigger for kids and our yellow lab.
I'm trading it in for an 08' Honda CR-V EX-L w/nav Nighthawk Black. I would've preferred a TL, but my wife uses the car for her work, and we wanted a car that would keep kids and dog separate. They're giving me $6500 for my CL with 98k miles, which is $600 below KBB.
I will miss my Type Sun dearly, and I took it out for one last spin last night. Man, what a fun car to drive. Had a cop follow me for part of the drive, which hampered my ability to push the car some, but I didn't get pulled over. I've had a virtually problem-free experience in my CL (had the transmission replaced once under the recall and the only thing not working is the auto-dim on the rearview mirror). I would recommend the car to any prospective buyers, this car has taken me from VA to FLA twice, to NH once, and to NC once. Great, comfortable car for trips. I'll still frequent this great forum, I've learned so much from you guys. Here's my moment of silence...

Sad to see ya go.. 1 less owner but if you wanna do you self a favor then get an rdx and still be in the family. Then you may not miss the cls so much with the turbo engine =).

I do like the RDX, but went with the CRV for 2 reasons:
1. money (RDX really isn't in my price range, especially since I want to purchase another house this year)
2. fuel economy (definetly not one of the RDX's strong suites)

i feel you man.... I'm going to be in that bind within the next year or so and even though the CL is a great car... it is far from family oriented... At least you got your priorities straight... Good luck!!

This might sound dumb, but isnt it much more beneficial for you if you sold the CL on your own. Maybe get another few grand out of it and then purchase the CRV? Are there any benefits on trading in your car?

Ok I was just observing at first but now that other people have chimed in I need to as well...
I just traded my CLs in with 103K and got 7400 for it and I still felt jacked...I can't believe you would accept that low of a "deal"...

I know I would've received more money if I sold the CLS privately, however, I don't have another vehicle that my wife could drive between the time we sold the car and purchased a new one. I didn't want the rush of having to purchase a new car simply because my wife wouldn't have a car to get to work in. I went to couple dealers, and they were all offering me $4500 for my CLS and $6500 was the most I could get all of them to give me. The KBB for the car is $7100, so in my eyes, this wasn't a bad deal. I negotiated and walked out of two dealers because they didn't want to budge on the value of my car.
