Acura CL not recognized by dealerships anymore?

Something interesting that i noticed today at the dealership while dropping off my car...

While I was waiting to be taken care of, I noticed that the dealership had posters and misc. pictures of different Acura's throughout the years. From older to newer.

As I am looking around I am waiting to see a pic of a CL but I found Nothing. Walked around one more time to make sure and still did not sww one CL.

They have pics of the TL's, Integra's, RL's, TSX's etc... All models made by acura were hanging up all over the place except for the CL. Anyone know why? Was the CL such a huge disappointment for Acura that they want to hide the fact that it was ever made?

It made me

I remember seeing pics of the 2nd Gen CL at PAA when i first went there about two years ago.

I guess they took em down now considering we are the bastard children of the line.

Discontinued model with no replacement. That is why you don't see it. Integra was replaced by the RSX, the TL RL TSX MDX are all still made.

I guess you don't see any pictures of the SLX either. The Isuzu/Acura bastard child.

I like to beleive that the posters were of such immense quality, they made it on the walls of racing greats, such as emmerson fitipaldi, etc.

Not so. I just got my Acura Style magazine. The last section speaks about their cars from the past. Here is a quote from Acura:
Page 53...."1996: 2.2CL is made in the USA.....with the unveiling of its new 1997 2.2CL * sports coupe in the spring of 1996, Acura becomes the first luxuary-import named-plate to design, engineer, and assemble cars in the United States. The 202CL is designed and engineered in Torrance, California, and Raymond, Ohio, and assembled in Marysville, Ohio. And it sets quite a percedent: Today, more than 75 percent of Acura vehicles sold in the United States are assembled in North America.

NO MENTION OF TYPE S BLAH BLAH BLAH.......LMFAO !

They are only going to promote/advertise their newest models in the showroom. I wouldn't be suprised if Acura Corporate has a policy of telling their dealerships to take down posters for older stuff.

Why would you want to promote something that does not exist anymore? The dealer/Acura is in the business of selling the present and not the past.

A BIG part of the problem is the fact Acura sold about as many CL's during their entire three year run as Infinity did G-35 Coupes during their FIRST YEAR debute!

Makes our cars more unknown. Low profile.

People always ask me "what car is that". I like that
