Acura-CL.com stickers, OKAY, OKAY...

I have the ability/equipment to make these up. I am willing to make them up for the forum. But what I want is some clarity.

What font do you all agree is the "acura-cl.com" font?

Narrow down the color's. I currently have red, black, and white material available. What else would you folks be interested in. Keep in mind that I cannot stock the rainbow.

What size? This usually is dictated by the font height. Once we have a height requirement, and a font style, I can tell you what the length will be.

And are we planning on picking a universal spot on the car to display them? I saw some posts here of the sticker under the CHMSL, as well as at the bottom of the rear quarter windows.

What do you all think?

With so many people on here I think it would be easier for you to design 2-3 different looks electronically, then get feedback from everyone.

I think a lot of people would like silver, to match all the silver cars we have on here.

I have one of the original, same as Urix...I don't know what the font is, but they are the right size and color. Maybe he can shed some more light...

the font up there in the red block is verdana.

the stickers that snook had printed had the ACURA in the real acura logo font and the -cl.com (or -tl.com) in an arial or regular sans-serif, i think.

for me personally - i like the idea of white lettering / on clear vinyl background (good to see through our tints)

placement on the back rear quarter driver's side window.

Here's mine that I got from Tim (snook789). The font is a little different. I think the size (font height) is perfect. Although I like the placement here, the rear window is raked such that I don't think many people driving can actually see the sticker. When you make some, I'd like two and I'll be putting them in the rear quarter windows!!

I had a feeling this would be a popular post.

Thanks to GoldTypeS and goldn1 for the shots. GoldTypeS, can you get me a measurement on that?

There is no "clear" backround. The stickers come right out of the vinyl lette for letter. You will apply them to the outside of the windows. If they aare going to be applied from the inside they will need to be reversed.

Another option as far as color goes. I can get a material that when applied to glass, makes it look like it was etched.

I am going to come up with a couple of ideas, per nootch's suggestion, and the members can decide on which one we'll go with. I think we should have one uniform design, with color the only option.

Actually... the Acura-CL.com logo font is "Tahoma"

in all our web logos the acura-cl is 22px and the .com is 18px. So try and represent the size difference accordingly. All lower case also.

I would like to see small stickers like the comptech one on this window:

I dont like the original Acura-CL.com stickers... as they arent actually the Acura font... they are just a crappy representation.

Id like to see them in white/red/black/silver.

R-Dog,

Thanks a ton. I had no clue how I was going to accomplish this. I totally agree with your comment above. IMO: Silver, Red, White, Black

The font/format on what is displayed is fine with me.

if think that COULD be neat...

On the other hand... I think its good for the stickers to be a little different then the acura name because it will make the name stand out more.

Stickers are a great marketing tool to bring other CL owners & potential owners to the site... if they look like an Acura logo people might just figure it as more Acura badging and not even notice the .dotcom.

Maybe you could create a few samples for us to check out?

Your right, a little distance from the "mothership" would give it more credence.

I will scan my font library (over 3,000) come up with some ideas. And we will see what you and the others think.

He ran over a small criter and it smeared on the calipers....

Actually, painting the calipers is pretty simple stuff - I think I have seen kits which have the cleaner/paint etc that you need.

Ill take 4 of them...I prefer either silver or white. The sticker looks good in either spot on the car! (either on the rear window quarter panel or under the rear window brake light) So why not put it on both? I just might do that! Thanx a lot! Ive been looking where to get them, but could never find anyone!

yo fellas,

I used the NSX font (which resembles the Acura font) while doing the plate frames

got it from "big brother" site:
http://www.nsxsc.com/nsxdownloads.html

that page even says:
the Acura font is not as wide as the
NSX font, so they are not the same even though they look similar.

Hope this helps.

RockDog... thanks for offering this! I would definitely be willing to buy at least one, probably two.

Silver lettering would be my first choice, and white lettering my second.

Now for a feature request... any way do print these on clear "static cling" paper? You know that semi thick plastic paper that clings to smooth surfaces like glass? We could just apply it to the inside of whataver window we want it displayed on. This would be much better than a sticker in my opinion.

THanks!

I'm in for a couple of small stickers. When they get to be too large, doesn't look good. I agree the plastic cling is desirable over a sticker.

As for charging, please be sure to set up a Paypal account. It's free, fast, anonymous, reliable, and easy. Beat the hell out of checks in snail mail.

Just checking in. I am working on a few ideas for the layout. I am going to really hammer it over the weekend. As soon as I have a selection I will post them.

I am going to a supplier tomorrow to see what I can get in the way of Silver and Voltage Blue.

If you make one that reads "www.260hp.com", I'll put it on my 01 330i & drive around with it. I'll even give you a photo.

cl.com rocks bimmer.org any day! Bimmer.org blows. Buncha lamers over there.
