This is a joke right? 160hp 4cyl Accord versus a 260hp 6cyl CL-S?

You do the math.

Not even close. I have a 2003 4-cylinder Accord. It only has 160hp, fine for a midsize family sedan, but significantly less powerful and much slower than the CLS.

How can he not believe you? 160hp vs 260hp.

160 torque vs 232 torque... Both have a 5-speed automatic. The CL weighs more, but not significantly more. No contest.

If he's that gullible to believe his Accord is faster, race him for $$

You honestly have no business owning a CLS if you have to ask this question.

I think the fastest times I've seen for a 2003 Accord 4-cylinder is around mid 7's, and that's in a manual

CLS Wins 240 Vs. 260
Even 6sp vs 6 sp. CLS Still wins
THis is stock for stock of course, mods change teh odds on the AV6 end of the spectrum, mods on CLS, still the winnar.

I think we still win stock for stock. MY buddy at the performace shop I use, told me that he drove the new 6 sp AV6 and that my car seemed faster to him, and he knows what fast is, he has modded Teg GSR.

i don't think auto cl-s can beat the 6 speed accord stock for stock..assuming a decent driver is in the accord cockpit

OK I got a stock CL-P my friends got a 4-banger accord with intake/headers/exhaust. We raced a couple of times and he even neutral dropped his car the last time we raced and I SMOKED HIS ASS EVERY SINGLE TIME.

If I was your son, I will add 20lbs tank of Laughing gas with 100 shot jets and race you for for your pink slip. Then I will be driving your CL-S after the race. I have nothing to lose. You probably paid for that Accord anyway.

My boy raced a 4cyl accord sedan in his cl-s 6 speed and lost.

I forgot to mentioned that the accord had an H22 turbo hybrid going on.

Rather than posting, "my boy has a 2003 Accord 4 cylinder I have a 2002 CLS...How much horsepower does the accord have and who would win in a race my cls or his accord?", I would have posted "my boy has a 2003 Accord 4 cylinder I have a 2002 CLS...How much horsepower does the accord have and where can I locate the nearest drug rehab center cause my friend's habit is out of control"

Seriously though, the new I4 Accord's do have some balls and if its a 5MT that catches a CLS sleeping (read: driver) who knows. But head-to-head (all things even), I couldnt imagine that contest even being close.

Peace.

Just race him and be done with it... if he doesn't believe you based on the facts (HP and Torque) why would he believe a bunch of strangers on the internet posting on a bulletin board.

Run him for $$ if he's so sure and post the results in the Racing Stories section....that way you can recoup some of the money you paid to have those rims/tires put on your car.

I think you've been abused enough.... we await the results....
