I think you should take the money and fix your car, then make a judgement whether you wanna keep it or sell it before you decide to part it out. Insurance is paying for it anyway, Plus you will probably get a suppliment form the insurance company, once the bodyshop tears it apart to see if there's more damage. You never know they might even total it if enough hidden damage is found.

Remember it wasn't your fault the insurance company should make things right.

 

That one's been up for a couple months too but the price hasn't dropped at all. I was eyeing it, but I'm not a fan of the color combo or the price. If you don't mind the color, maybe you can haggle the price some and get it shipped.

 

Man my project has to be the slowest one ever! My blower is still sitting at paul's and on the garage shelves are CT headers, innovative mounts, RL calipers, CT ss lines, RJ kit and honestly who knows what else! I'll get it done soon enough. Just been busy playing daddy!

TBH you should try fix it. If you dont like it after all you can sell it and get another one.

 

I've been in your situation before except mine was worse, even though the adjuster that came out didn't total the car he probably couldn't see all the damage that the shop will since it probably hadn't been torn down yet. I'm betting that when the shop opens it up they will find more damage and it would most likely be enough to total the car but its a catch 22 because once the shop starts working on it the a lot insurance companies will be reluctant to total it out because they already paid money for damages.

I think your instincts are right get rid of the car and look for another one because your right you won't be happy with it once its done and you will always be second guessing your decision.

 

Id look for a new chassis to transfer your parts onto.

 

You could use just about any cl if your going to swap parts.
May be alot of work but I see auto cl's for $2'g's with smoked trannys frequently on craigs.
It would give yourself a project and end up with a few thousand left over out of your money.
That's if your cl is not your only car.

And if you parted out other parts from the crashed cl you don't use the new car it probally would end up costing you nothing.
Or you could have a little flow of money comming in in the future.

 

Sorry to hear about your CL and I'm willing to negotiate. Working with one serious bidder now but let me know.

 

Really sorry for your loss, been there with both a totalled car that was great and the neck injury. See your doctor, I played it off manning up and found out later I had a mirco fracture caused by whiplash. You're still young, don't age yourself by ignoring possible injuries like that. FWIW I wish I had kept my CL and gotten another to swap my parts to.

And I just kicked the living s*it out of a 2011 335is in my Z.

 

I highly doubt he will do any trade for parts as his CL is junked and he may not be getting another.
