I got an accident today. I'm so sad... It was police car. Damn!!!

Painful to see such a nicely modded car like that. Doesn't look like too much damage, but these cars just aren't worth too much nowadays.

 

Looks like a T-Bone to me. Hubcaps generally are not on the backs of cars.

 

The accident happened at traffic light. I was driving to make left turn(My car was the only one who tried to make left turn at that moment. Of course it was on green light). And the other traffic light was on red. As soon as i entered that intersection to make left turn, i saw police car right in front of me. It was too late. He tried to drive through on red light. You know when you drive around, you see this pretty often. When traffic light is on red, some police car turn on their light and pass that intersection. This was exaxtly what happened today. And my neck is hurt... God damn!

 

I hit his passenger's rear wheel. And its the cop's fault.

 

That sucks. At least you moist likely have his dash cam to prove it.

Usually I hate when people sue over a car accident, but in this instance - since a cop was involved - I can see you getting screwed on this. The second they start giving you the run around, get a lawyer. The dash cam will save your ass.

Did the cop admit fault? Was his lights on in the intersection?

 

Yeah the cop said it was his fault. 2 other cops arrived after accident. 1 of them reported accident. The cop who reported accident asked the cop " Are you sure it was your fault?" answer was " yes its my fault".
And yes his light was on when the accident happed. I didn't see him until i entered intersection. He said he didn't see me either. I claimed this on my insurance company. So we'll see.

 

Wow. Give that cop a medal. He didnt lie his way out of an accident.

 

No kidding. My faith in humanity just went up a little.

 

Yeah as soon as i hit his car, i was pretty sure that he's gonna blame me. And what? I was wrong. He is honest guy.

Morgan, I do mechanical work not body work. So i have no idea. I can tell i need bumper,both fenders,hood(looks like hood ratch is fucked up), headlights,bumper guard frame and more... I have to look into it tomorrow. I'm not sure if insurance company wanna fix it or not. We'll see.

 

Judging by what I can see of the headlights, the buckets look like they took the brunt of it. If the lenses and the reflectors are still undamaged, I have an extra set of buckets you can have. Just transplant all your stuff into it. Of course, if the ins co decides to fix it.

 

fwiw, Two years ago when my insco totaled my 01 they said it was worth 7500 with over 150k.

There's a great chance this car will need a right frame rail. You never know until it's dismantled though.

Sorry to hear man. Reminds me of when I wrecked my CL two months ago. Guy brake checked me and I ran into his tow hitch. Had to replace the radiator support.



She's all fixed now though. Found all my parts on car-part.com and AZ.

 

Make sure you get to the hospital and get an exam/x-ray. Take it from someone who got hit just about the same way. I didn't go then but wish I had as I have neck pains from time to time now.

 

go to the hospital asap think about your future about how you gonna work if the pain wont disapear on the side note you gonna make some money out of it but thats not important right now

 

this. i know of a few people who claimed to have neck pains after an accident and receive a handsome monthly insurance payment due to it. it's hard to prove what's legit and not, although i'm sure in your case it's legit.

as for your car, i dont even know what to say man. that car was so clean i think i would cry for weeks. even if they do rebuild it, it wont be the same if the sub-frame is damaged. plus all the mods you had in that front end. i hope shit works out for you. what a horrible way to start the new year.

 

Glad you're ok and let me know what comes out of this if insurance fixes it or you buy it back to fix. I'm local and might be able to come across some replacement parts for you.
