press on the piston ring so you can get the pad in... not a big deal.

I will be doing mine tomorrow morning.

I just grabbed:
1) Large Brake Cleaner Can $2
2) Large Liquid wrench fluid (Actually the new competitor brand) $3
3) Synthetic Brake Grease (Anti Squeal and Anti Thermal) $8
4) Impact Screw driver with 5 bits set $10

Total: $23.

According to a Mech Tech, a new set of shimmies and brake pads clips are highly recommended.

I started the isntall and faced the same problem. Even with the use of the imapct screw driver the scews are stuck. I risked stripping the head of the screws so I Aborted the installation and put back the pads and caliper. I used this penatrating liquid and it did not help on the screws...

Why in the world Acura has those scews on the rotors, other cars like nissan they have no screws!

To my amazing the front pads have some 33 kmiles and are only 40-50% worn. I may be able to drive to 100kmiles with those pads.

There was a lot of rust everywhere and the virtually no grease what so ever!....

Recommendation if you have squeaking brakes and you did not replace the pads for a long time, remove the pads and apply a new coat of grease and re-install.

Now, I may either sell the new rotors and pads or pay some $120 and let a Pro tech at the dealer do it for me...

I wouldn't give up Mr Nashua. Just keep at it with the impact screw driver. Just hold it loosely in your hand and give it a bunch of good whacks with the hammer....you'll get it!

How hard did you hit them? Was the impact screw driver stripping the screw? Mine barley moves, you can't see it turn. I'd give the impact driver a few hard swings, they try with a large screwdriver.

If it does not work, get a propane torch, heat the a screw then apply non-flammable liquid wrench, repeat.

My pads were only 1/2 worn at 56k miles.

BTW, I carefully used a large Pipe Wrench Plier to compress the pistons.

I may try later....Thanks for the advice. Maybe I need a bigger hammer than 16 oz home project hammer.

Using a torch will make it easy, the metal expands and contracts. It will pull in the liquid wrench. I don't think the torch is any more heat than hot breaking conditions. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

My biggest problem was getting the old rotor off the hub. I didn't have any pry bars. I had to wack them with a hammer to.

Just torque the lugs down on the rotor and the screws will come right out.

you guys did not look in faq, i did a DIY on front rotors and pads. Other guys gave input as well. What ChadT said should work. Wish I could put that in the DIY to make it complete. Don't give up Nashua!

So torquing the lug nuts will work? I have aftermarket lugs and i am affraid that they are not deep enough so they go all the way in. But, it is worth trying.

Note: Changing the front pads is a piece of cake, It is simpler than installing the CAI.

I do not know why people do those for like $300 per 2 axles when the parts are stock parts are like $75!

It worked for me when I tried it after breaking off an easy-out in one screw and stripping the rest. I torqued the lugs on and the screws turned like nothing. One other guy here (drffs) tried it and said it worked well for him too. One other thing. There are 2 threaded holes in each rotor you can thread bolts into and drive the rotor off if it is stuck on the hub. This should be added to a DIY or the FAQ as it really does make changing rotors fairly painless.
