it sounds like the CL will be phased out with the luxury and hp bump of the accord.

I figured we'd get the Navigation option in the Accord, given the Camry XLE now offers a navigation system. It'll probably be available as an option on EX variants. I'd say it's a fair bet that the DX-trimline will be dropped...they don't seem to sell many anyhow.

I imagine horsepower to be in the neighborhood of 215HP-220HP, with the same 3.0 displacement.

Mags have the displacement the same as the last gen. MT says the horsepower will be the same but the i-vtec we have in ours will now be on the accord too. Motortrend has pics but, i can't remember if they were sketches or actual photos. (i think they were actual photos )

It would be nice if they based a luxury sport coupe based on the S2000 platform. However, I still don't think the CL will be phased out anytime soon.

This will be bad news for the CL......why would anybody the CL now if the accord will have navi and 6 speed? Plus more companies will make more accessories for that car than the CL.

And what if the CL gets a redesign for '04???

We, as well as Honda/Acura know CL sales blow. Maybe they're going to bring out something kick ass for '04?

Either the redesign is gonna happen with some major changes to the car, or the CL is gonna go bye-bye. Especially if the Accord is gonna come with a manual tranny and a navi. option.

It's still an accord.... Everyone will have one like civics and you will get tired of seeing them. I barely see CLs and i see at least 30 accords a day...Modded or not. Can you imagine how many accord coupes will be on the road. The reason i chose the cl is to stand out a little, kinda like Infiniti or lexus. I think the cl will phase out anyway, I'll just switch sides and get a g35 coupe if they stop making the cls next year. A 6spd accord still won't be faster than a 6spd cls regardless.

'04 CLS will get a redesign. Just because the accord coupe will get navi doesn't mean anything. Soon every car will have navi. Car makers do this alot. It just means that the '04 CLS might see the IMA implemented.

2004 An exterior redesign? I don't know. It seems like that would be not only cost prohibitive for Acura, but also outside of their normal model shelf life. I would think we'd see a different model in and out for the 2005 CL if there is one. I just can't see Acura making major changes to one model line every year.

This was taken from superhonda, could be fake or real, but here it is
My dad call me last night from Japan and said that he was in one of his cleints office today and he happen to ran across a US 2003 ACCORD BROCHURE! I told him are you sure it a US brochure he said yes! It all in english and said 2003 Accord on the front with a silver 2 door coupe in the front. He try describing it to me said that it look somewhat between a CL and a front of a lube? He said the 7g accord is totally redone in side and out! Their is 3 type of motor out for the 7g accord since they discontinue the lube and boost up the accord to compete with Nissan and Toyota. Mostly Nissan with their 255hp maxima. 250hp altama and 175hp SRE. The base motor get a little kick to a 160HP 2.4l sohc 16v Vtec. come in a 5speed or auto. Next is a 225hp 2.3L 16V DOHC I-VTEC "YESS A DOHC!!" also come in a 5speed and auto. Next is the 250hp 24v 3.2L vtec V6.6speed or auto. I think the v6 is the same motor in the acura Cl type s with 20 less HP. The 2.3 and 3.2 7g accord will come with stock HID as an option and other good stuff. I 'll post pic and spec. of the new accord when my dad get home sunday with the brochure. Keep you guy posted!!

TL will get a redesigned in '04, I think it would get bigger! It would get i-vtec engine for sure and CL-S' 6-speed! It would cost more from $35k to $38k

CL might be dropped all together! I am now leaning to believe that V6 acccord coupe will get the Type-S engine.... So, in fact, it would replace the CL! and it would have the 6-speed too...

Another Acura car will join the line that would fill the gap between the RSX and the bigger TL...

TL is target as mid-lux seadan and not a "lux sport sedan".

If I do not see "high-performance" emphasized in the next TL... this is my last Acura... time to move to the BMW M-level, Audi S-level and Volvo R-level... Mazda RX-8 and G35 Coupe are still on my screen too if they are sub-6 cars.

Bye Bye Acura....

I don't think that the CL will be phased out... Sales have slumped but I think Acura will acknoledge some of the mistakes they have made with the current CL and will correct it in 04. I think the CL will be radically changed for 04 and they will offer options like an underbody spoiler kit and it will look very different from the TL.. Just because the Accord coupe will come with a little more HP and a navi does not mean that it will threaten the CL. Remember, Acura is a luxury brand and therefore doesn't really compete against Honda, Nissan, or Toyota..

You are correct sir. CLS will not be phased out until it goes through one more redesign. Everybody is already dancing on the grave....

Because some people think a Honda is "beneath" them and insist on buying based on "Name Brand" and will only get an Acura regardless of what options, features, performance they can get from a Honda.

If the guy scans the Brochure and posts some pics I believe it... otherwise I'll take that info with a 40lb bag of rock salt.

I think I read somewhere that the new Accord will have the same 3.2l motor as us but not 260hp but 240hp. Dont quote me on that though.

I could potentially see Acura not doing another sport luxury coupe. They are bringing over the RSX Type R soon and a new NSX is on the way, along with a new RL. Their SUV and TL series is selling like crazy...which I think will be the main focus of their attention by 2004. Who knows, maybe I'm not giving them enough credit.
