I did mine in about 2 hours. Just a tip if you have to do it yourself.

1: Take left fan behind the radiator off before front un-install and install.

2: Install the rear header from underneath the car.

Your all set.

I don't think it is that hard. It will definitely take more time than, but you will get it. I think the hard part might be getting room to apply force. Like Neversummer said, take off fans here and parts there should get the job done easier. ALSO remember where all the bolts and screw go. I always ended up with extra bolt and such.

I've done them on my CL-S before. It took us a LONG time because of how the bolts are. As long as the bolts can be easily removed (i.e. liquid wrench, etc.) the install is pretty straightforward and easy. Me and Jon might be able to come over and help in the afternoon. What tools do you have?

tools, um very short wrenches (uses bits). i just got a pretty large torque wrench. screw drivers... which aren't needed.. no air tools =[

not sure what a liquid wrench is, i'm still trying to find a 2 foot long wrench. help would be great, i have to research on what other parts i might need: gaskets, gotta buy screws.

Check for the bolt pattern. I think it was M10 x 1.25? Don't quote me on that though. Try searching. Get the nuts to go along with them. We'll bring our tool sets too.

Do you have jack stands and a jack? The higher the jack goes the better. Get some gloves too and DON'T drive your car for at least an hour before we start or else we're gonna burn up in the heat.

Sorry I have to respond to this.........please do some research on the necessary tools you need, and buy quality tools. Craftsmans are among the best affordable tools. And please no cheap jacks or jack stands, your life isn't worth the install. The right tools makes a major difference.

We'll bring some jackstands too then and extra torque wrenches just in case. I don't know what they're called, but if you can get those jointed extensions (3/8" drive) those help too for some of the nuts on the headers, esp for the rear.

The drive up stands are very helpful for doing anything underneath the car. Even though I'm dropped, I was still able to change out the sways, LSB, and headers.

got them installed!

thanks kenny + jon + that one guy for the help... very nice people! can't believe they did such a good job. real quick install, no problems except we broke a bolt used in the install of the header to downpipe. replaced it.

couple of questions though:
we had to use a set washer + nut from xs... only one set, but the bolt is grade 8 i believe. is that a problem?

when i rev, there's no problem. but when i put it in gear and drive i hear this hissing noise. most apparent from 2-3k RPM, but after that i don't hear it (as much) probably b/c the engine gets louder.

i haven't had a chance to really test it.

Could potentially be an exhaust leak or it could be resonance?

Smoothest header install I've ever witnessed! 03 No rusted bolts! Did encounter some weird problems during the install though (i.e. one of the bolts for the headers came out with the nut!!)

It's a pleasure to help a fellow forum member. Enjoy em!

There's going to be an increase in exhaust noise because the headers are a much thinner metal than OEM.
