60k service at Pohanka?
Hello,
Just curious to see if anyone here has had their 60k mile service done at Pohanka Acura in Chantilly, VA?
If so, how was the experience? They said they charge $350 for the 60k service. I think that is kinda steep.
I was looking over the manual and the 60k service is basically changing oil and rotating tires and checking this/that.
Are they supposed to change/flush the tranny fluid and coolant too? What about brake fluid?
Please advise.
Thanks.

Yes I am a member and yes I got the maintenance journal. It does NOT say anything about tranny fluid change or coolant flush for 60k service.
Thats why I am asking those ppl who have gotten their 60k service done at Pohanka if their service included the tranny and coolant flush.

Ok, the replies I have received so far do NOT answer my question.
C'mon guys, I know atleast a few of you have gotten the 60k mile service done to your vehicles.
Anyone here got it done at Pohanka in chantilly, va?
Did they flush your tranny and/or coolant?
How would you rate their service?
I see alot of CL's on the road.

No offense, but why don't you just call Pohanka and ask the service people what they do at the 60k service? Then at least you'll know if they change the tranny fluid or not.
I've gotten all of my service including mod installs done at Pohanka and they've always taken care of me. Jerry Soriano is the guy you wanna talk to, he's a good guy .. mod friendly and won't screw you.
I've never gotten my 60k service done at Pohanka though, sorry. So like I said, call them and find out whats involved.
http://www.pohankaacura.com is their website if you need to get their phone number.
BTW- Just for reference, there are 3 different 60k service types:
1. 60,000 mi/96,000 km/4 yrs Scheduled Maintenance (Severe)
-Replace timing belt, and inspect water pump. (See timing belt on page 260 of your owner's manual for replacement information under special driving conditions)

Check OwnerLink if you need more information. (http://www.ahm-ownerlink.com)
If the cost is to replace the timing belt along with the rest of the stuff listed, then the price is pretty good.

sort of off topic but i'm getting my 52.5k service done at Chevy Chase Acura next week, sounds like they just change the oil, rotate the tires and check the brakes. I forgot the cost.

COME AT ME BRO!
there is no 50k check up on our cars its every 60k then 120k the change oil, and flush the engine and trans 350 is a fair price its about the same as if you took it some where else.. deal with jerry as your service write.. he is the best at pohanka

I just do whatever is necessary to keep the warranty in effect. Oil and filter every 4-5000 miles--trany fluid change every couple of years--brake and coolant fluid every 3 years. Get a inspection of the underbody of the car every 1-2 years which cost about 50.00 to check brakes and boots. The rest is unnecessary unless you can see a problem.

call around you can get the same thing done at jiffy lube( i used to work there) you might find some place cheaper. but it should all run about the same rate so i would go with acura. i just drop my car off at pohanka for safty, emmis, oil change, slotted crossdrilled rotors installed and my gauages installed

Try Karen Radley Acura in Woodbridge...ask for Pam. I bought my car at Pohanka but don't trust them with the service (the service reps are big on attitude and not good at customer service). Karen Radley also has service coupons on their website and their prices tend to be a lot lower than other dealers in the area, in general. It may be out of the way but the techs there actually care about working on your car.

52.5K is the 6th time for this service (the other one should have been the 30K major service).

I just noticed that there's a Acura Dealer 7.5 miles from my house now Acura of Newport must have moved to Seekonk MA finally... Gotta check 'em out, hopefully their service prices are better then Inskip, and they might be hungry for new business.

I just called the dealer today to get my oil changed on Thursday...and they mentioned I haven't gotten m 60k done yet (I'm at like 63.4k). Anyways, I asked how much it was and he said $299, however this was at Keyes Acura in Van Nuys, CA. Just wanted to let you know. So yeah, is this shit necessary? I dont wanna waste 3 bills on this BS if I don't need to

sent email. I had a 10am service and I arrived at 10:15(traffic), so I waited 15 min during
which 2 people told me somebody will be right with you. meanwhile a guy in a new TL-A
Spec who went in just ahead of me got helped right away. When a consultant came over
to assist me ,i explain I had an appt and I want the 37.5k service. First, he tells me it will
be a few hours and asks if I will wait,I say "Yes", then he tells they may not get to it until this evening and I respond "so at the latest this evening"; "no more likely TOMMOROW
MORINING AT THIS TIME" he tells me and adds "we will pay for car rental, but it won't be
an acura". I told him I'll pass and left. He gave no other options like would you want to
reschedule for another time. This is the 2nd consecutive incident with them, the first my
card was rejected and I had to borrow money from a friend to pay for the 30kservice
after which the cashier told me the machine wasn't working properly. Granted, they
were all very busy and i understand it would take a few hours but a whole day?
