60K service?
60K service?
Do you think the service is worth it for the cash ($700)??
I plan on keeping the car ('02) CLS as long as the tranny holds up, which appears to be working fine (knock on wood!), but I do think having the service completed makes sense in case the tranny does go after 60K.

For $700 the dealer should carry your books to school, shine your shoes, deliver your papers in the morning, wash your car for a year. If you are concerned with the tranny, you can go to good independent shop and have the fluid done there. That's what I would do
If you look at the owner manual it will say OIL CHANGE
But If you bought the car, I think you should change the oil, TRANS fluid, brake fluid(if you haven't change it during 45Kservice),air filter and Cabin filter. If you are leasing it give it an OIL CHANGE.

Nope, I bought it. The service manager said replace water pump and timing belt was included and I assume that the ass-pounding 700 bucks comes from increased labor rates because of the UAW here in Michigan. The trans fluid hasn't been changed since 30K. Maybe I'll take it to an independent shop, however this is Michigan and it is very tough to find small shops that reputably service Acuras and Hondas. I hate this state because people that hate imports race me at every stop light. This state is full of retards.

Water pump and timing belt at 60k miles!?!?! Sounds like they are trying to pull one on you.
Water pumps usually last around 80k miles. I didnt' think the timing belt got changed till 105k.
Hmm..

Hey for the six speeders, tranny fluid change at how many miles? I'm at 30k and wondering what else to do now, besides of course oil change, new tires, rotate and balance, and inspections, brakes....
You should get some Genuine Honda ATF. I have seen many trans having shifting problems with other trans fluid(Ok, older Acura and Honda, our 5spd auto is not shifting well anyway
)
My local Acura dealer only charge $49 for trans fluid change.

but usually it's the ricers try to race me all the time
For what its worth, just had my $60K done yesterday at a local garage in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles (K & H Auto).
$163.74
It was so low that I wasn't sure he had done everything. He saw my look of disbelief and said:
"Yeah, this car is pretty easy. The hardest part was the dang cabin filter, but it needed it. Take a look at your old one."
He then pulled the old cabin filter out of the wastebasket and showed it to me.
