What do you guys think should i get the service done at an Acura dealership for $700? What is performed? I asked the service rep and she told me she wasnt sure about what was done. Do they rotate and balance the tires?

If I were you I'd call Acura & let them know this dealer
A - Charges that much money for that service
B - Doesn't even know what's included in that service when you asked
The service items can be found in the owners manual. There's a downloadable one posted in the FAQ.

It depends on how you look at it. I work at a Nissan Dealership and i would not say its a total "rip off". Doing a service in a dealership shows (Acura) that you care about the car. Therefore; when something goes wrong; engine, tranny, etc...and your Factory warranty is up; they will most likely "goodwill" it for you. And also; at least the Acura Tech knows what they are doing with you vehicle; then a mechanic in an outside shop.
I don't know what is done with Acura's services; but for ours; we have machines for engine flushes, tranny flushes, and coolant...which most outside shops do not have. We also rotate and balance four tires, with the newest equipment.....the price isn't in parts; but labor. I would say its worth it....

$700 ?? I thought my dealer was on crack when they asked for 500 for the 30K (same as the 60K) !!
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=168249
It's really just an oil change, tire rotation, pollen filter and air filter change (details are in the sticky in the FAQ forum).

Look around for a trusted mechanic other than the dealer that works on honda/acura cars, then if you can't find anyone then go to the stealership. It would probably save you half of what you would pay at the dealer.

bye Acura, hello Toyota
Do not go to the "stealership"...save some $$ & do it yourself. However, if you're not mechanically inclined, like me, then find a reputable shop in your area. I'm sure you can find one that can beat the "stealership" price. btw, if you're within the bay area, pm me so I can give you my older bro's local repair shop # & location(shameless plug, lol). I'm definitely sure that we can save you some of your hard earned $$$...

Back to a MT!
102k miles and my first tune up will be my timing belt/water pump. The only problems I have had were warrenty. I did my pollen filters as reccomended, but only cost me $17 and about 15 minutes (including time to find the screwdrivers and put them away). As long as the car isn't making any funny noises I say don't do it.

If you fine tooth the dealers 30K, 60K specials, most all of the items on the list are "check" this or "check" that, NOT "fix" this and "fix" that, thats extra.
Same with the **150 Points Certification** of used cars. The board has a list posted. Most all of the crap is just "check" this. (Not saying CertUsed does not have it's advantages, just saying don't even assume mechanical or service stuff was done.)
