^who are u talking too?
u can get around it, but ur spedo wouldnt work. mind went blank for a sec, forgot what it was, but the "speed sensor" i think is on the trans. taking it out will trick the ecu and wont cut the fuel at apox 150. now i think thats where it is.

also depends how good ur gps is. our cars top out at 149-154 from what ive been reading. my tl topped out at 153mph. did take long at all bc i was spraying (4th gear auto kills speed). my cl still havnt topped out yet. stopped at 149-150 then had to slam on the breaks. and not a second too soon did i hit the breaks.

here is a perfect example of what it should sound like when u shift
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTUb17TSTnw
RPMS are being pulled down.. driver fully lets off gas.
I'm not making this up dude it's for ur own good, Do u wanna get better or stay arrogant and be less than what u could be.
it takes a bigger man to admit he's wrong than to shrug it off an think he's right.
Just remember that. I wouldn't be typing all this just to try and make u mad, i'm trying to make a difference.
but w/e, take it as you will

Fluffy... how is the gov at 183km/h? if you read online, the general consensus is our cars go to 147mph... so it should be around there.
something seems fishy doesn't make any sense.
reset the ecu and go right then an do a max speed run. see if that changes anything

I usually end up beating him by a little over a car length, but man i wish i had rear wheel drive, his car takes those on ramps so much faster than mine does and we both have stock suspension.
I honestly think acura should make the s3500 (basically a S2000 with a 3.5) stuff a v6 in to that little coffin, I bet it would sell, provided the market gets fixed.

or just do it yourself , iirc there was someone that had actually stuffed a J series motor into a S2000 quite a few years ago
only thing i would say is it would upset the balance of the car, with more weight up front (but it would not be sticking as far foward though ,since it is a short motor)

I don't think it would. A V6 would throw off the weight distribution and isn't in line with what that car was about. Regardless, the S2000 has been discontinued now.

I didnt even realize you guys responded to my question lol, I figured maybe it was because my car was from canada but if progression can go above that then this is weird but my cars not red lined or anything it hits 183 then cut off a little and goes to 180 then 183 etc, weird but I cant see there being any thing wrong with it (BTW I do this on a non public road)

More ppl die in the US from accidents than in europe and they can legally drive 120. We are more concerned about making stiffer laws and cars that drive themselves so we can multitask then actually making drivers better. Im more worried about ppl driving drunk or on phones or putting on makeup/nail polish than ppl who are speeding but paying 100% attention.
this is true

Holy Shit!!! There's a thread about my video...
Yeah that's me.
First off I never posted that video on here because it was never meant for this site. The OP's thread tittle is exactly why I never posted it. This video is the result of getting a new camcorder last summer, and kinda losing my mind for a little bit. I don't normally drive like that anymore, nor do I condone this type of driving.
I posted it up to send to a couple friends who are haters, or far away and can't go for a ride. But then again I did upload it to youtube so I knew what I was possibly in for. I thought it would just get lost in the thousands of other youtube videos.
Anyone who is offended by this video I am sorry.
I figured on-ramp to off-ramp wouldn't be so bad. My friend was on the other on ramp directly across the highway, he looked out for the clearest break in traffic. He notified me and I just went for it. No one got hurt.
So there are a few things I can clear up about that video. 1st to 2nd shift the sound you heard was wheel spin. The camera has shitty audio and can barely pick it up. Yes my clutch grabs just fine but with added power comes loss of traction. Plus my tires suck. 2nd to 3rd gear shift was just a slam. During the 4th and 5th gear changes what your hearing is by no means a miss shift or rev limit bounce. That is a simple throttle blip between shifts while in neutral. Go back and listen to it again you'll hear it. To me it sounds like music.
Is it necessary no, was I playing it up for the camera... absolutely. Would I seriously post a video of a miss-shift? Negative. With the taller/longer 4th and 5th gears there's a chance of falling out of vtec during shifts. So a simple throttle blip will fix that. I have squeaked out extra tenths while running the 1/4 mile in my old Integra doing that. I mean watch the gauges, look at how that car was moving. It never came out of vtec. Did you see the launch with no wheel-spin? I know what I'm doing. I hope that clears things up.
Ohh and CL-S Progression, I will give you a pass on your I can't drive comment. Because: A you don't know me. B you've never been in my car. and C You obviously have no idea what your talking about. I mean 5 years of driving stick! lol That makes you an expert... Your kidding right? I've been beating on Honda's while you were in grade school. Please.
Thanks OP for finding this I guess you liked it. I promise to go to the track for the next video.

throttle blip? so... u're not shifting fast enough cause if u were there'd be no time for that to happen. when u let go of the clutch the rpms should be getting pulled down... and in the vid u hear them go up. (so it seems)
so u either are on the gas a lil when u start releasing the clutch (i seen it happen a million times) to go to the next gear (and revs go up), or ur gear transfer isn't fast enough to keep everything in sync. From the sound it could b a bit of both. but my guess is you're ancy to shift and u are cheating on the gas pedal thus u end up with those weird shifts.
no car makes that's sound, i've driven the shit out of plenty "standard" cars and none did that (BMWs, Porsche, ford, acura). I cannot see the CL6 design being the culprit.
Anyhoo, the good new is it's fixable, and not some annoying characteristic of the CL6... cause if it were i'd not even be interested getting the 6speed tranny
