Honda's announcement is "here say". Reading it in a Auto Mag, I believe it now ! Done deal and it's a BIG deal. I am sorry Soopa, but for those of us that "grew up" with manuals, you would understand my excitment !

You say a Honda Exec's announcement at a press conference is heresay, but you believe it because it was announced in a magazine?

If I said, some Exec. VP with Ford was going to build airplanes, would I believe it ? NO, but when I READ IT IN A MAGAZINE with attorneys etc.....they would not publish shit if it weren't true. It would be a lawyers feast !
Nuff said ! HOOOOOOOORAAAAH for the manual !!

True. I just cant picture our big boat with a stick.

Stick makes me think of like a S2k or something.

Soopa,
I am a young 40 years old. When I was 15 and started driving legally in Louisiana, every car on the road was manual, big and small, very few small cars though, Japan cars were just coming to the US in the early 70's I believe, so before then all cars were BIG, big motors like all V-8's, manual trannies, but Automatic's were very RARE, infact, most Caddy's/Buick etc offered Automatics, but they were top of the line, so only the well off could afford Automatic trannies, today, we want our manual trannies back !

The National Enquirer publishes things that aren't true every week.

To use your example, Ford can say they're coming out with an airplane. And it can leak to the press and get printed. It doesn't mean it'll ever happen. There's nothing illegal about that.

Huh? Manuals lose value quicker than Autos so why would a manual version of the CL make our CL's lose value?

Same here, I have to deal with stop and go traffic every morning and afternoon. So a stick would be nice, but not for me right now, probably never since I like not having to worry about a third pedal to press...too lazy I guess.

What is so hard about driving a manual in traffic? I drive a manual in traffic all the time, and I don't even notice I'm shifting. It is all second nature. I also have an automatic car the I drive in traffic, and it is no different then my manual. It is just driving. The guys cutting my off, braking suddenly trying to sqeeze in front drive me more nuts then shifting the gears. And for anyone who drove manuals all the time, you don't even know your shifting, as you just do it. I'm glad Honda is at least thinking about giving owners a choice for a manual again. Isay thinking only, because I want to actually see it with my own eyes first.

something to take into consideration:

we often talk about how the engine really growls and performs at around 5K and up, and until now, we've been relatively unconcerned about over-revving b/c of the limiter. so now with the manual, how concerned r u guys about accidentally over-revving the engine trying to get performance?? i know i am.

No. Overreving will be less of a problem. At least for those of us that use SS. With SS, there is a delay in the shift. And since you have to hold you foot on the gas during the shift, the revs still climb while the tranny executes the shift. So if you try to shift at 6900, it won't shift until maybe 7100. With a manual, you back off the gas as soon as you hit the clutch and that stops the revs from climbing. You get more control. Besides, it will still have a fuel cutoff in case you do something really stupid.

Welcome to the forum!!!

They actually made a few more then 2700, details are here:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=125628&page=2

If you look around, you'll find them. There are a few forsale here in the black market:

https://acurazine.com/forums/non-automotive-motorcycle-sales-9/

A search on http://autotrader.com should turn up a few too. When I just did a nationwide search, I found 73.

$27,495 Highest price
$14,995 Lowest price
$22,151 Average price

Good luck in your search...
