Well the mod bug is a fierce one. I just ordered another matching damper for the rear. As soon as I get it I will install it in the rear damper location and write a full DIY for the front and rear with parts, specs, and final tire shredding observations. Jim

Wow, about damn time something "new" appeared on our CL's.

BTW, how did the install go? Did you can to jack the engine up to release any tension on the damper?

Oh, another question, I've been so out of the loop...

Does the install require any replacement of OEM parts? Or can you just simply throw it on?

So how are your impressions of it now that you have it installed?

How does it compare to the stock shocks?

I'm curious since you had the stock shocks from the get go.

Looking great though :up2:

The install and removal of the front damper took 10-20 min. tops. It uses the OEM rubber bushings and washers from the top of the OEM damper. There are also two more additional washers for the top of the damper as well as two nuts and one bolt. There is not tension on the OEM damper and they are not loaded like a shock for the wheels of a car. Simply unbolt the OEM part and remove. As for the stock shocks, they suck and I had a serious wheel hop prob.. The new damper is great and wheel hop is about 95% reduced with only the front damper replaced. There is none of the drama associated with the OEM damper.

Chris What have you been up to?

Not sure if it would work on swapped cars seems that our mounts are a little closer and the holes are not the same at least it is for me you might be able to tell in the pics Siggy posted.

By the way Chris, did you ever dyno your car?

Installed the front damper.

I reused the bottom bolt.

The top bolt I used an M10 with 1.50 pitch about 4" long.

Install took about 15 minutes. The hardest part is taking out the stock top nuts on the existing damper.

Haven't really had a chance to test it because of the rain but it sure does look pretty in there.

I'll post pics later.

I am waiting on my other damper for the rear. After much testing, I think it will require replacing both oem dampers to eleminate 100% of wheel hop. We shall see. Congrats on the install Niteqwill

How much wheel hop are you still experiencing? I'm waiting on the one for the front to come in the mail...

theres on problem w/ an engine damper if you install it wrong. do not make it too hard, because then the car makes noise and theres excessive shacking.

guys the link is on the first page of the thread. When you find a thread you are interested in, you need to read the whole thing before you ask a question.

Found it on sale here for $60. Shipping is $14 so delivered at $74. Buy two and shipping is less. This place is still cheaper than the guy on e-bay:
https://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/sal...chpart/EDA-101

The one I got was NRG part number EDA-101T (T = for Titanium)

really stupid question, but I'm new to this whole thing. Will this help a stock CLS-6? I'm looking for inexpensive mods (intake, etc).

It helps a ton with just one but I think it will take two and some fine adjusting to get rid of 99.9% of it. I will install the other in the back of the motor soon and get back.

Just installed the front one, I got the 92-95 Civic EG one and a 3 1/4"(75mm) 1.50 thread. WoW what a difference. I used the extra inserts that came with it to replace the old soft bushing. Ended up being a tight fit with the taller bushings but it was worth it.
Every one needs to do this.

Just ordered a titanium one from horsepowerfreaks

I'm sure if it reduces wheelhop that much it'll be alot kinder on the axles.

Also did the local home depot/lowes have the bolt you guys used?
