dont know why everyone is getting civic dampers when they make them for our cars?

Because thats the Stiffy mount, which mounts from the passenger side strut tower to passenger side mount bracket. There is a kit specifically for our car.

The torque dampers we are talking about in this thread replace the two dampers that attach from the block to the subframe. There is no kit specifically for our car, hence the reason for the Civic dampers (or any others with the same length).

When I replaced my engine mounts at 115K or so I was seriously going to go the NRG route. However, I decided to get OEM instead because if the issue of the NRG damper coming loose on my front mount ever occurred, I would have to remove the S/C unit just to get at it. I'm getting old, hehe, and just did not want to F#ck with it again.

Then when the Ingalls damper kit was developed (thanks to friesm2000) I jumped on it and it has made a huge difference (at least in my case) when used with the new OEM mounts/dampers. I have it set on the stiffest setting and could not be happier.

Bump'n this.
Probably old to most but, since I'm new to the 6 speed I found a new little mod to do.
I wonder how it would work making it a little more solid than the previous guys have without using oem bushings.

The 6 speeds have engine torque dampners front and rear. The autos didn't but maybe you could add them. Ppl replaced them with nrg dampners meant for an old civic. Those should help keep that monster engine planted.

I have wondered how the xlr8 mounts would hold up without the dampers.

I consider the dampers as protection for my mounts. Mounts are holding up well, so not gonna change my setup. It works great for me.
