5th gen lude vs stock CL-S
Hey I'm new here. I have a 99 prelude with a CAI and exhaust and know a guy who has access to his dad's cl type s. He is pretty confident that he would kick my ass after i kicked his ass in his civic ex. Who do you think would win off the line and a 20 punch?

CL Type S vs Prelude vs CL-base....side by side
now these links are to the performance data as tested @ the track. You could see they have been tested numerous times.

Considering that you have CAI and exahust i see him beating you by only a nose or maybe an even race.

check the videos boys. LC beat that CLS. Looked pretty even from a 20mph punch though w/LC winning by a nose? he's a good guy who doesn't talk smack and has the vids to back it up.

A modded 5sp Prelude is a very worthy opponent. I raced one when I was stock and we were even all the way to 90 when we shut it down. The guy driving the CL-S needs to get CAI and the results could be in his favor.

Okay....first off, good kill.
Hmmm...seems he let off his throttle as you guys came down the road..because of the narrowness...and it seems the lude got off line a lot quicker...maybe try it on a wider and longer stretch..but like i said..good kill!

sorry i was on vacation i'll answer some q's now...
i got up to around 95mph at the curve, the 2nd vid doesn't show it cuz of bad cameramanship hehe it was too bright apaprently. He didn't give up till I hit my brakes before the 2nd curve. Watch his taillights he stops around 90 or so. You can hear him hit fuel cutoff in the 2nd run. CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK so no he never let off the gas.
The road is not narrow. I'm trying to set up some s2000 races next week hopefully.
when i had i/h/e back in december i raced a cl type s with pretty much the exact same outcome except we both had an extra passenger. The only time he beat me was when he wanted to race on a side construction road with dust covering the entire road to 60mph for some strange reason. one previous generation with intake/ypipe/exhaust, and a cracked ypipe, sounded MEEEAAANNN! i would inch away in 3rd. then a new maxima with intake/disc muffler. he was quicker than i thought, i had to launch all out like in the vids just to stay ahead of him as he started creeping back. he never passed me though and that was into 4th gear hehehe

Watch out when you talk about Maximas. If you have seen the other threads, the Maxima people will get all medieval on your ass and launch a crusade to prove your wrong. :p

they can launch any crusade they want. throw out "magazine" times of a prelude doing 15.5 in the 1/4 (pathetic driver) i don't care. If there are any in north texas and want to race and prove me wrong on video be my guest.
Everytime i throw out a video challenge in a flame war where people start ragging on a prelude or another car, you'd be amazed at how fast they just shut up while the one guy who lives 4000miles away keeps flaming

He's saying that Maximas hear the 5 spd gearing advantage which makes them faster. This Shaka likes to start sh*t doesn't he?
As for LC's HP, it looks like it's gonna be much higher soon, I think I read on another board he just got Crower Stage 2, H22A Cam gears etc...look out CL-S...and Maximas..
