My brother in law and I changed the fuel ring on the FPR...just in time for hurricane Jeane. After the install we all went out for a test run and let me tell you we were all very impressed with the power output. There was me, my son and 2 men in the car and the car hit 95 very quickly(this was out on somewhat of a country road). I was careful as not to go full WOT as we are still waiting on the new harness. The pull of the car is truly fantastic. The one down side is that the belt did slip off the pulleys. I'll have to get a new belt and gradually adjust it over time as belts for this setup(Payntech) are either too big or too small. That's all for now.

Your belt should not slip "off" the pullies. The next size up from the stock size should only be 5mm larger and should tighten up just fine. You should drive it a few miles, then re-torque it. If it actually came off the pullies, I would suspect an allignment problem.

When We took off the stock belt all the larger belts were quite a bit bigger then 5mm. We checked with Auto Zone, Pep boys, Napa, Discount, Dayco and finally we even called commercial lawn supply places that carry ribbed belts. But we couldn't find the right size. We opted for a smaller belt that needed to gradually be tightened.
Now do you know were I can find this bigger 5mm belt and who carries it? I'm really hoping that a GY "gaterback" would work. Thanks ModAddict for any info on this.

You're refering to the "stock blower belt" and needing the next size for the HBP, correct?

I already had the HBP and the belt for it. Then I went from the HBP to the Payntech one and that's when we encounted some belt problems. Hope this helps.

I thought you use the belt that comes with the S/C for the HBP as well.

Does the Comptech HBP require another belt?

I never got that far. You went with smaller and were able to install it, and adjust the tensioner a bit?

For some reason I needed the next size larger when I went to the hbp, and know that that next size would have also worked with the Payn pully, but I know others have used the origional blower belt with the HBP.

Hmm... hopefully the original belt works for me. I'd much rather have a belt a little tighter than one that might be too loose.

It might have been 15mm larger.

Part number? If the dealership can't get the original belt to fit I'll give them the part number so they can order the correct one.

I don't believe that you will run into any trouble on belts with either the stock pulley or the HPB. It wasn't unitl I got the MAX(Payntech) pulley that we encountered problems. I have had the Max boost pulley and belt for approxomatly 4000 mile and it just maybe that it has loosened a little and now running it till 6500-7000 RPMs is throughing it off. I'm going to take it in and have them check it out and maybe just tighten it some.

Mine was installed with the HBP and the original belt. It works just fine.

As was mine. You should be fine with it.

Also these belts run extremely quiet too, real happy with the setup.

FYI

stock blower belt: GoodYear part#: 4040 245 = 24.5 inches

Belt that Brad needed/got was the Goodyear gatorback 4040 252 = 25.2 inches and if i remember correctly Brad paid 10.00 for the belt, because we laughed about that....

Damn Carl, you keep good notes! I looked in the garage for the sleeves that they came in, but they went with the blower. I knew it wasn't much larger, and I'm sure it would have worked with the larger Payne pulley.
