I'm just haveing a baaaaad week, I got a 10 over ticket and a 15 over ticket in a week period and now this

anyways what the hell can I do, just go to the dealer and have them put me a 5th tranny ??

 

isn't it considered a lemon if the same serious problem occurs 3 times? Time to upgrade to a 6 speed.

 

I would have thought after the 3rd tranny. time to other people involved

 

how long has it taken for them to get you a new tranny each time?

The law is a bit fuzzy. If the problem cannot be fixed after repeated trips to the dealer, it could be considered a lemon. There is another CL or TL owner that is on tranny #4 and has not been able to lemon law the car.

 

I'd ask the dealership you bought it at to buy it back at a MORE than fair price.

That's bullshit. You need to be a TOTAL COCKSUCKER to these dealerships to get them to do anything.

Sure it is ridiculous. Unluckily you cannot lemon your car if its more than a year old in MI .

At this point, there is no other solution than just replacing it.

Bad luck for you.... at least Acura still warrants your tranny and gives you loaners. Hopefully the 5th tranny will be the last one. Considering your stats, I will trade in the car as soon as I get the opportunity.

I was told by the dealer that I'd get the car back in 2-3 days .

 

Pretty quick, the dealer treats me good when that happend

 

Get a new car. The new TL is out and supposedly has a new, redesigned tranny. You can also go the RWD route and get a G35 coupe. The G35 tranny can take much more than its rated 280hp (was designed for the 340hp Q45).

 

See if they'll swap in a 6 for a small fee?

 

think of it this way...it costs them bout $3K each time they replace it, so the more u go through trannies without resolution, the more it's costing them...if they're not gonna lemon the car, fuk 'em

actually im sure the dealer makes money from this. Acura is the one who losing money, but i bet it isnt much since they just refurbish the old trannys.

 

I would definitly look into Lemoning the car. That would be the first thing i do in the morning

sounds like Lemon Law time.

 

u'd b surprised how many trannies r replaced week to week...PAA replaces i think close to 7 a week, while Rallye Acura by me swaps out around 4 a week...it really adds up when u think about it

and even if the dealers make money, who's payin em??? double whammy to the home office...sux for them

 

Cut the emotional ties and lemon and/or sell the car. Going through 4 transmissions on ANY car is just insane.
