IS 300 Police Car!

What's with the cop cars in Europe? It seems like they grab some weak little hatchback and paint the word police on it. How do you have any respect for someone driving a Ford Escort? I like the American way. Big Crown Vic or Caprice with a big V8 and upgraded suspension.

Things are different over there, much different. How about the cops arresting you and putting you in the back seat without handcuffs. How about cops with no weapons telling you there are going to arrest you and send you to jail.
But when it comes to the war against their neighbours (Irish), machine guns, bombs, and armoured personnel carriers are just another day at the office.
Not taking sides in that one....

'Course, we have all kinds of unmarked cars in this area. I even saw a '96 (or so) white Supra TT pull someone over.

Our local cops have been using Z28s for a long time. Most of them are dark green or blue and unmarked, but there are a few other colors, and even a handful of white marked ones. The marked ones look pretty cool, IMO.

Yes there are high speed chases in the UK. But they are different then in the US. Criminals in the UK don't stand a chance like they do here in the US. You can run in the US and get away with it but in the UK, they will find you eventually. I guess it's not really a big deal there when somebody runs because chances are they are kids or non-violent criminals.
They don't need Corvettes and Z28s to chase you down across Nevada and Colorado open highways. They need small and manueverable. There's only a few roads out of most small towns anyway. Roadblock are easy to set up, they have helicopters and radios.
Only an idiot would run from the police. If I were the Governer of a State, I would help pass a law that read something like this:
"Any person who failed to yield to Law Enforcement officers who were fleeing (for longer than 60 seconds) during the commission of a felony and while attempting to allude endangers pursing officers or innocent bystanders will (in addition to other penalties) have their driver's license permanently revoked in the State for the first offense; never to be issued to that person in this State for the remainder of that person's life. Subsequent driving violations in that State would be a felony punishable by minimum 10 years in State prison." In other word, we need to guarentee that we will never had to chase you again in this State. In California, the first offense would automatically be a strike, too. NO EXCEPTIONS to the first offense, of course there are [few] exceptions to the second.
Can someone say let's get tough on crime.
