also ran a track friend in his almost bone stock Z28 .he has a gutted mass air meter ,,and K&N thats it and um beat him too...kinda...
.409
2.159
6.117
9.290@77.40
he ran a 9.185, his personal best .i crossed the line first but, ofcourse the redlight bought me a loss...and it was a real drag race neck and neck...
but you know a cl cant hang with an LS1...his car is an auto,
when i meet him 3 .4 months ,ago he pulled a 10.1, and asked if that was anygood ...i told him he could go 9 flat... hadnt seen him since the engine... he's been going every week, and has gotten much better 9.2's concistant for him..

hmmm... I didn't even know there were tracks that ran just 1/8th mile... guess we don't have them here in TX area... I always thought it was a 1/4 mile. Where ARE the 1/4 miles times for this 3.5?

Good kills!!! That Mustang is hideous, you should have shot it after you beat it!!!

As far as the LS1, in the eighth you can run with them, but the LS1s territory is really the second 1/8. On the street I can keep up with an LS1 until about 60, but then it gets real ugly. My GS doesn't have your top end, but I think my bottom end is a little stronger.

Again, good kill, and I look forward to seeing those low low 14s.

very true...and i have said this many times...even before the 3.5 swap i had beaten 2 LS1's but ofcourse no one believes you...the fact is they can be made into monsters, but stock 0to 60-70 they're not all that impressive...

That's not a Bullit.

It's a 2001 Zinc Yellow GT with a 2000 Cobra R Wing, 2001 Bullit Gas Cap, 1999 35th Anniversary Tailight Insert, 1995 Cobra R Replica Wheels and a Stalker Body Kit.

Need I say "Kill It!" ? That thing is ugly.

Good kills R !!!

the main reason i thought it was a bullet is the rear area between the tail lights had like grill material instead of plain plastic...but those peices could be swapped also....it acctually looked nice but way too slow for what it looked like....and let me tell you this guy could NOT drive...first race he missed second ...second race he was lined up in third... 3rd and 4th were straight up woopins but it didnt give me the satisfaction knowing it had much to do with the driver

FYI

The Bullitt has no insert in the rear, just the Ford emblem on the right side and the name "Bullitt" on the left side...

Still says Mustang on the bumper, but has no wing.
Brushed aluminum fuel filler door cover, different rocker panel, no side scoops, unique C-Pillar, red brake calipers w/larger rotors, no crome around the horse on the grill and no foglights are the other outside indicators or the real McCoy...

The hood was supposed to be different, but they went with the usual GT Hood...

Pull_T got what that Stang was right on the money...

Cars aren't that fast, I've seen GTs run quicker...maybe the owners are babying them

by the by...my 1/8 in my heavy ass 01 vert GT is 9.0 on a bad day...heh heh

How does a .510 (when I sleep) sound? I'm a little rusty, so my .50 lights haven'tt been as plentiful as my .51s

oh, 2.0 60's on street tires...I'll be taking my Nitto Drags off for the winter....

The Bullitts are faster than a GT, if only by a tenth or two.

I know they have been tested in the mags to like 13.9 or something, I just haven't seen any at the track go that fast. I wasn't saying that the GT was quicker by any means, just haven't seen the Bullitts post faster times, that's all...

and when I said that they aren't that fast, I meant that in the comparitive sense. The Mach 1 and 01 Cobra (03 is in a class by itself) are pretty damn fast compared to a GT, but the Bullitt...it's a drivers' race, you know?

Re: Re: Re: FYI

That sounds about right... my die hard Ford buddy told me that the Bullitt is exactly the same as the GT powertrain wise... only difference really is that it has tokico shocks/struts, 1/2" drop in springs, and a different intake...

Kicked out after the 1/4? what are your times? I take it you dont have the safety cage needed to run fast times.

CLUofI, i'm assuming he's in mid 13 range, but they don't let converts run that fast at some tracks

NHRA rules...13.99 for verts
11.99 for hardtops...

I'm having the worst time launching the car, either spin and bog bog, or just bog, but never a good launch, can't get better than 2.0 on stock rubber or the Nittos...

There's also another problem someplace..it was going 98 bone stock, now it's down to 96...been like this since July...gotta make some changes Friday....

my best time stock is a tenth better than my bet time with the mods...freaky if you ask me...

Depends on the track, but "by the book", no.
