i had a lil run in w/ the si just now. i was coming home and saw 3 civics following each other. a newer civic si, crx and a hatch back. so i decided to follow them and see what's up. i got to line up w/ the si at the red light and since i'm not too sure if he's going, i let him go 1st. so light turn green and he gun it 1st, so i gun it too. took me no time to catch up w/ him. and since there's a cop just in front of us, we cut it off at like 70.

the si has just intake and exhaust and i have just a cai.

so if we would say run on the tracks, i should be able to take him no problems, right?

you should beat him easily...i use to beat them when i was stock.....and my friend had a lot of mods, but he also has a system and a body kit......but still, every bolt on you can think of....

 

the new SI's are only a 16.2 from what ive read in car and driver...

 

I'd think you'd edge him out. Remember he's driving a 3.0 CL.

 

I went at one today from a 30 roll, he edged me out untill about 90 and it was my game after that. we shut it at about 120 won by 1 1/2 cars mabe a bit more.

 

the new Civic Si is NOTHING like the 99-00 Si. So the outcome of your race makes sense. On the track should be close but, your AV6 should take it.

 

I raced a civic with a GSR motor in it last night from 45-130 and beat it by 2 cars and he runs 14.7's. A civic si aint nothin

 

and what makes your 3.0 so fast "fast98cl3.0"? You better have some n2o if you're claiming to beat a car that runs high 14's in your 3.0.

 

Are you saying the older ones were faster?? I think they're both slow. I beat a bunch of them with my (F23 e/i/h) before I got my H22 swap. Even if the si's had e/i they couldn't pull on my sohc. Maybe I just came accross a bunch of shitty drivers??

AEM pullys, bigger camshafts, changed out the valves, custom cold air intake, 2K racing muffler with custom from the header back, Venom 400, V-tech controler 280lb injectors

A good driver can run mid-upper 15s stock in the B16A Si. The new Si runs mid-low 16s at best in stock trim. Neither are particularly fast but when modded (NA), the B16A Si can dip into the 14s.

IMO, Honda should have imported the CTR instead of the Si.

 

yeah I guess. IMO they are both seem slow and most are driven like shit and won't break 16's, but yeah you're right, the older ones could break 16 if driven perfect.

 

Are you joking me? Did no one else notice the "280lb" injectors? What the hell kind of injector is that? I NEED to see a pic or something of that bad boy. And a 2k racing muffler? Did you install headers? Or you have the stock exhaust manifolds... What "valves" did you change? Did you do a head swap? With what head? The accord? LOL

 

Yeah the injectors were pointed out in another thread in the 1st gen section. Everyones called on him, and he's still argueing, but at least he isn't getting all mad and trying to threaten people over the net like some dudes.
