Whoa they even have the interior looking super retro too. Props to Ford for going through with this.

I think this is the best looking mustang in the last 10 or so years. I think they pulled off the retro look great! the tail lights and the fog lights on the GT version look sweet and give it the perfect retro look on the exterior.

Looks very nice!!! And the 300hp on the GT model is a nice addition too! And on 87 pump gas! I'm so jealous!!

The six cylinder sucks: lousy stats for a 4.0L V-6.

If they don't have 50 recalls the first year I would get the GT.

Yea me too, that's my only real complaint. I guess they are saving that for the Cobra. The new Mustang GT looks great and sounds like a great deal.

Mid 13's with ease and better interior. Sounds like a winner to me.

Another nice feature is Ford's Variable Cam Timing in the 4.6, which should make for a nice power curve and better breathing in the upper rpm's. This should make the new GT a better performer from a role and on the highway.

I couldnt care less how much bolstering the seats have. It's so easy to slap in some Recaro's or Cobra seats that it is a non-issue for me.

They did it, they fucking did it. They kept that think as close to the prototype as possible. I now have no doubt in my mind that my next car is either a stang cobra or a gto judge. American muscle is back baby.

I'm amazed too. It didnt get as watered down from the concept as most cars do. I actually think the rear looks better than the concept. And no news on the vert yet, that'll probably be announced at theauto show. I would suspect maybe a month or two delay though.

Wait a minute. Isn't this car manufactured by Ford?

I hope all you new Mustang owners are satisified with the build quality.

Doubt it.

My mustang has been 150% reliable and I beat the shit out of it. Can all Acura owners say the same thing? I am starting to get tired of all the Ford bashing on here, to be honest.

My Cobra took a beating like a red headed step child.....I only had ONE problem with it.....and it was $200 to fix. Mustangs have ALWAYS been able to take a beating!

Last survivor of the muscle car era Corvette was always a sports car, not really classified as a muscle car. GM's new GTO is a disgrace to the legendary badge Has no relationship(retro look) to the old Goat. By pinning the GTO badge on an Autralian Holden don't make it a Goat. It will be gone in 3 years if no changes made

Kudos to the Ford designers

reliability? well the car does have a japanese chief engineer- Mr Hau Thai-Tang. Read last paragraph in HR7. Also ford auto and manual trannys are pretty much bullet proof. most of the guys with modded auto stangs on stangnet.com have had no problems long term. So I for one am very confident.

your dead wrong about the GTO! bagging an aussie car is the best thing GM could have done. I don't want to even think about the interior, or handling prowles of an american designed GTO. Didn't you see the top gear review? A very very agile car for 3,700lbs, a very reliable, modable engine(heads/cams on an ls1 and you'll do 12's), and an incredible strong chasis. Australia has some of the worst roads in the world, so they build their cars to take an insane amount of punishment, thus the 3,700lbs weight.

The 'Domestic Car Poor Reliability' thing is a legacy of the 80s more than anything. I frequently mess with the domestic guys about their car's reliability, and while Domestics still dont rank as high as imports (see Acura/Lexus/Infiniti versus Caddy/Lincoln/Chrysler) they have closed the gap quite a bit in general.

Anyhow, the 2005 Stang looks like the best they've ever made by far. The only other one that I like is the 03 Cobra; the rest are crap.

people have pre-conceived notions about Mustangs that are hard to change. just gotta accept that. (I've also got a 5.0 GT that I've kept because it's been such a fun and reliable car)

I don't see how ethnicity is relevant in this thread but, that's not a Japanese name- he's of Vietnamese background.

Time will tell the life expectancy of the bastardized GTO. All in due time, grass hopper, all in due time

But, true. IMO reliability has less to with the engineering and more to do with parts quality and assembly.

i'm glad holden was used for the gto, if gm built it from the ground up it would probably be fwd and based off the impala. instead it has quality throughout which is rarely seen from pontiac, a little bland but better than overstyled. i wish they would rebadge the rest of the holden lineup now.

you really can't hate this one. I think ford did it right this time.

I wouldn't mind the v8 as a daily driver.
