2004 Mustang?
I think this looks pretty nice. Except for the Saturn/Celics taillights, but with a little fine tuning, I think this is in the right direction.

Looks sweet, but is the the prototype drawing. If so I'm sure the production version won't be as sharp. Remembe the proto drawings of the CL? That was 200% better looking that the production version.

Looks like a damn import luxury coupe... which I guess is why you guys like it.
Seriously, the new Stang is supposed to ride on a shortened Lincoln LS/Jag S-type/Tbird platform and grow its engine back to 5.0L. Should be nice, especially since the Camaro/Firebird still costs way more and GM isn't putting anymore money into redoing that platform.

Looks like a Dofge Stratus from the front and a Celica from the rear. I bet it will put down some pretty impressive numbers though, but I doubt the engine will be "growing" anywhere near 5.0L, at least not for the GT--I have actually heard several stories to the contrary.

After looking at the first image, I'm starting to think that these aren't even proto-type drawings, it reads "Vote for your favorite Design", probably just some artists conception of what they could do in 2004.

Look at what the second guys says...
If the next Stang will have an interior on par with Lexus, and handling like a BMW... you could see another CL owner go to the blue oval... BUT... What will the CL and other BMW models be like in 2004?
If Ford came out with the 2004 model next week, I'd be sold. Unfortunatly for domestics, the world doesn't stand still, and the imports tend to advance more quickly.
Anyone have a time machine handy?

As far as the proto drawing, it looks almost the same as the proto/spy drawings of the current mustang. Has the reversed hood scoop like the current Cobras. Of course it won't have dubs like the drawing, so that will change the look. All the features are accentuated in the drawing, those will surely be muted in the production version. Looks to me as not much of a style change.
As far as engine, there are many rumors/leaks as to what they might be. Of course they won't confirm anything untill just before production as to not cannibalize sales (ie the 6 speed CLS). I've seen rumors as to the following:
GT - 4.6 SOHC (current), 4.6 DOHC, 5.0 SOHC
Cobra - 4.6 DOHC (current), 4.6 DOHC (w/blower option), 5.0 DOHC, 5.0 SOHC (with blower option), 5.0 DOHC (w/blower option), 5.4 DOHC and 5.4 SOHC (with blower option)
