they love it...405HP w/ 400 lb torque...baseprice of $50,350 isn't bad considering what u're getting it looks like...improvements included more HP and torque, minor tweaks in suspension, heads-up display in the windshield, and cast wheels instead of forged wheels...only complaint i can see is that as they were testing it, the GoodYear Eagle F1's were a bit slippery...the driver was having a tough time keeping the car under control in the corners and rapid direction changes...granted, he was going quick, but the squealing and slipping seemed a bit excessive given the speeds he was doing (around 40-60)...all in all, it seems like Corvette only improved on the success of the '01 Z06, which has got thumbs up from me!!
Huh? Why would they do that? The vette has ALWAYS been a 2-seater.
Please tell me you're kidding?
The Z06, especially, is what it was designed to be - the roadcourse-capable-car-from-the-factory.

Z06 is great, but can't Chevy make a 4-seat version with a bit more room, some cargo space... Just to make it a bit of daily car...

2+2 Vette? Ack!
Corvette aficionados would have a fit if they read that...
The back seats on most 2+2 sports coupes are usually useless parcel shelves anyways (Supra, 300ZX, etc.)

used C5 once the Acura is paid for.
I think Nashua's point was why doesn't GM package this drivetrain in a mid-sized sport sedan like a M5 ?????
NOT replace the Vette.
Not unlike the Z8 & M5 sharing powertrains.
I've heard a rumur that Cadallic is going RWD over the next
few years on many of it's models.
GM makes a car in Australia called a Holden that is a RWD
350ci V-8 sedan that is suposed to be a helluva lot of fun to drive.
