OMG this thing is DOGG slow. my buddy just got one as a rental car w/ 500 miles on it.

Well we took it to the spot where I race all the cars and did some runs against mine.

Well needless to say I was ahead 2 car lenghts EVERY SINGLE TIME from 0~80. So we switched cars and tried it again. leaving my car in D5 and the max in auto as well. and same results.

Oh and its gets better, after about the 3rd run the MAXIMA smells like its burning something.


oh and the max is suppose to have more torque than the cl-s but didn't feel like it at all. may be because the cl-s has vtec.

mines also modded so i guess it wasn't fair.

 

Tall first and probably isn't broken in.

IMO, it could use a 5-speed with a lower 1st gear...

 

Don't tell the MAx guys that....

 

hmmm... hard to compare a 4 speed against a 5 speed automatic... BIG difference just in that... 6 speed maxima vs 6 speed CLS... that would be a fair comparison... anyways, the 5AT CLS is quite an impressive car... too bad about it's tranny problems... you don't hear about 4speed maxima guys takin' their cars back for new trannies do ya?

 

CLS can take any maxima auto... stick the maxi wins...

Also, 2 cars behind your fully-bolt-on auto CLS. IOW, it'd be neck and neck or slightly ahead of a stock CLS. I don't see how that's DOGG SLOW.

 

i left it in d5, meaning no ss or gate shift . and no place to host the video's. This was up to 80. if i raced up to say 120 or so then the gap would of been even greater.

and another note VSA was left on.

Honestly, I always race in D4. I don't dick with SS or gateshifting. I find it to be pointless and anyone that's so neck-and-neck with me that two hundreths of a second gained by gateshifting or SS isn't going to make enough difference for me to care about.

Btw you still planning on going to the track Friday night? It was supposed to be rainy and even now the report still says 30% chance and "rainy" at weather.com =\

I raced an 02 Max Auto in my gf's father's CLS (totally stock)

I pulled almost a half a car on it to 75.... They definitely are a little slower than ours stock for stock (auto that is)

 

wow I think you're the first to admit this... silverbullet seems to be convinced that CLS is God... and Maxima is shit...

What "Comptech Stuff" do you have? Headers? Cause I would imagine that extra 30 hp would make a big difference when racing a Max.

 

Not to be rude or anything, but Maxima 2002-03 is pretty fast... Just because it's 0-60 is 0.5 sec or so less, I still like it. This is not bad at all considering you can get decent maxima SE for 3-4 grand less than CLS
You can't compare CLS to maxima, compare it to Infinity to be fare....

 

I can't find any around here with the 3.5 to race!!!!!! It sucks.

 

juice, get some friends together and go to Enterprise rent a car and tear one up for a day.

 

He has Comptech Headers, Springs, Sways, and Exhaust.

And yes it makes a difference, which is why I made the comment on page1 about how a stock CLS wouldn't be beating a stock 3.5SE.

sounds like you should look up some Atlanta CLers for a friendly race. I'm sure you can find some one with a stock CL.

 

i'm not saying maxima is faster than CL-s. I'm just saying the way he said it sounds like CL-s is alot faster than maxima, when his car is modded

 

well the max does have more torque than a stock cl-s so i just thought it would pull harder thats all.

I've driven a stock 03 cl-s last week so I know how it feels. its must be the dual stage intake and the vtec.

although i did like how the maxima's rpm goes all the way down even though its its red line is 6000.

I like to give Russ aka Silverbullet a hard time. If you guys could only read some of his posts about the CL-S when he owned his 2k1 5 speed Maxima I have no problem with him...he just is hard headed.

I am starting to think there really isn't a video. Since he has had way more than enough time to send me them.

 

I had a race with a max last night. We started from a 5 mph roll then raced to my 3rd gear so maybe like 105 or 110? His was a manual, found that out after i raced him. well we both got a good jump so we were dead even to about 70 or so then i started to pull slow on him. around 110 i was maybe a half car infront of him. i was impressed. but i still beat him. I have a Tl-S with intake, thats all.
