Are 2002-2003 Type-S Wheels Identical on both CL and TL?

Title says it all but just in case you missed it....Are 2002-2003 Type-S Wheels Identical on both CL and TL? I know they are both 17" rims but are they both 7" wide and is the backspacing and/or offset the same?

No. The TLS and the CLS never had the same rims, but they looked similar in 01 and 02.
The 03 CLS rims are totally different style than the TLS rims. THe 03 CLS rims are a painted double spoke design, all the other CLS and TLS rims are a polished rim.
TLS rims are 6.5" wide, CLs are 7". I have the 03 TLS rims on my 03 CLS, I like them better than the stock 03 CLS rims.

They are the same style but, as mentioned, the TL rims are narrower:

TL - 17" x 6.5"
CL - 17" x 7"

Hope that helps

Hey Guys...sorry for the confurions...I meant just the 2001 & 2002 rims. I currently have a mint set of 2003's that I want to get rid of and get the older CLS style.

Withe the .5" difference, I can still run the same tire on both rims right? Is there really an advantage of one rim over the other? Just curious.

The TLS and CLS come with the same stock tire so there is no problem with using the same tires. The 01-03 TLS rims do not scratch as easily as the 01-02 CLS rims and look very similar. THe lip is narrower on one? My 03 TLS rims don't have a scratch and most all the 01-02 CLS rims I've seen are badly curb-rashed.

The tires are also .5" difference between the two, however, you can fit the CL tires on the TL rims no problems as others have done that.

Did Acura ever make a chrome OEM version of the CL Type-S Wheels in 2001 or 2002?

You see them on ebay from time to time. you can always have them chromed for about $5-600. I had a chromed set of the 03 CLS rims, but after a week or two I realized I was not a chromie.

FYI, I am running a 235/45 - 17 tire on my stock rims.
You shouldn't put tire that wide on a TLS rim.

I just checked!!!
They are the stock ones that are the machined steel finish.
If you look close, you can tell the difference, from far away,
the match pretty good!!!
