2001CL-S prices... once the 2002's are out.
What is a reasonable price to expect for a 2001 CL-S once the 2002 model year is on the lot? I know you can most likely get the car now for about $500 over invoice... but will Acura offer a rebate... $1500 - $2500? in order to sell the remaining cars.
The local dealerships have a bunch of CL's on the lot and I think they have been there for quite a while. I wouldn't be surprised if I could get it for $26,000 flat in October. What you think?

depending on how the '02 CL prices, maybe lower...usually, it's like a few thousand less that average levels for a bulk of the year's sales...i'm thinking they're gonna structure pricing such that the stick will cost close to a grand less...they may have a free option, stick or manumatic, your choice...let's say for argument sake stick is a grand less than the manumatic...that would mean u could get the CL-P for around $25-26K...Type S will prob b in the range of $26-28K...it's really hard to tell b/c u got people who bought it early for around $32-33K and people who bought it later for around $29-30K...and i would suspect the $2-3K reduction would b based on the most recent pricing...the Acura website STILL quotes for around $32K for lots of goodies...i guess depending on where u live, u'll get different prices...take me for example...for a showroom model (EXACTLY what i wanted that was marked up some from people getting in and out, brushing up against it, etc.) at Rallye Acura, the guy wanted $32,800 without taxes...at Smithtown Acura, i got a brand spankin new, not even a month old baby with the same options for $30,350 without taxes...with taxes comapring the 2, i saved $2658.25 (assuming a 8.5% tax rate), and i got a new car instead of a floor model...my guess is the '01 CL-S will go for $26-27K

Scooter, right now I wouldn't even pay over $28,500 for a non-navi version. The CL-S is just not selling... especially since the TL-S came out. I actually would prefer a TL-S but I doubt I could get it for under $30,500.... in which case a fully loaded Altima would look just as attractive for less than $26K.... even though I have yet to see it.
CL-S Invoice: $28,128
Minus 2% dealer holdback
Minus whatever rebate Acura offers...$2k?
Plus $300 - $500... just to give the dealer something extra.
So considering all things.. I should be able to get one for $25,500 - $26,000.

i think that you are not being realistic, the best you will do 27 flat for cl-s no options. unless acura/honda gives an incentive to the dealers. check the diff websites like edmunds for rebates/incentives. if there are any, you can get the dealer to give the whole amount to you in the form of a discount.

They have no incentives yet... but once the 2002's come along... I would assume that they would have to offer some type of rebate in order to get them off the lot. I have seen a Red CL-S that has been on the lot for over 3 months now... and they have 5 White CL-S's on the lot.... and I am sure that almost all of those were there 2 months ago... if they can't get rid of them now... they have to reduce the price. Also remember that it cost money to keep these cars on the lot... Acura pays for the first 3 months... and after that it comes out of the dealers pocket.
I am going to go write down the VIN numbers on all the cars on the lot today... so I can see how sales are going... and then use it to negociate.

I got a great deal at the end of June, so I'm sure you should be able to at least match or probably do much better. I got my CL-S non-nav for $500 BELOW dealer invoice here in NJ.
The best thing to do (as stated by others before) is to deal straight with a sales manager and not a salesman and to get quotes from several dealershps. Also, make sure they don't try to stick you with extras to make up for the deal you get. Good Luck!

My 1st post. I hope to continue with many more, as I'm taking delivery on a 2001 CLS no NAV (white/black) on 08/09/01. Just for the record, dealers in Columbus, OH. area are not budging below 29K. That's what I'm paying... seems a bit high, but only one dealer has the color combo I want. Not a great deal, but a great car none the less!! I'm psyched!
