2001 S2000 for $27K? good deal?

My friend has a 2001 S2000 for sale, it only has 12,000 miles. It also has I/H/E, 18" RSR wheels, and an $8000 stereo system. He's selling it for $27K. Do you guys think it's a good deal?

I think that price seems fairly reasonable--especially if you "know" the former owner and with all the optional equip.

I've watched the S2000s for a while and am surprised at how well they hold their value.

Good luck!

I'm currently shopping for one too.. and I found a lot of 02's with lower milage for around 27K. I would personally get an 02 because there are some settle difference and improvements over the 01 that is worth the consideration. JIMO...

didn't the 02's get a different shift knob and a redesigned wheel(which looks similar)?

The 02's got real glass instead of plastic (which fogs up) for rear window. And I believe also some minor interior updates including the shift nob.

I not sure, but I think the suspension was also enhanced for the 02's as well.

See if he'll take the price down if you dump the stereo equipment.

that sounds like a really good deal as long as the car was taken care of and not beat.

considering the stereo and wheels it's a good price. But do you really need that stuff? I've seen 01's w/ same mileage for low 20's

He has DC headers and Tanabe racing medallion. I'm not exactly sure what his $8000 stereo system consist of. From what i remember he has two 10" JL subs in the trunk custom fitted and took out the spare, some kind of high power amp, top of the line panasonic deck that costs him $800, and he changed out all the speakers in the car.

That reason why i want to buy this car is that I've never had a convertible, and summer is coming up so it's a good time to have one. I'll probably drive it for several months, after summer I would put everything to stock, sell it and sell all the aftermarket equipment. Hopefully I'll make a few bucks! What do you guys think?
