2001 CL type S Auto exhaust question

Ive been wanting an exhaust for sometime and finally got the money for a custom one but i was wondering if it was worth spending all this money on an exhaust system if it wont give me car to much extra horsepower. Plus i dont want the horrible drone from an exhaust system(would be awefull in an automatic). My question is, should i go with an exhaust system or just get the mufflers?

If you're going to do exhaust for performance, then you need to replace/rebuild it front to back. Most just slap on a muffler, or a cat-back and don't gain much because they're too limited at the beginning.

To get any real performance gains, you will need headers, high flow cat(s), custom piping, a resonator (if you want to keep it quiet) and a performance muffler. I have all of the above, pieced the whole system together myself, with custom piping, and just slapped a quieter muffler on my exhaust, and now it's perfect. Also noticed some nice performance gains from it

firs thing i did was the headers.. and holy shit it was like adding all my mods all over again.... then i did the ct mufflers a year or so ago.. and then finally about 4 months ago or so i got the xlr8 high flow cat......

honestly the headers made more pwr than all my mods combined prolly... u can feel and hear the headers even if u were def..

mufflers i did for sounds... and hfc i did cause i wanted the last mod i could buy for my car.

i think it would be bennefitial to do larger piping.. i just didn't wanna spend more money and i also wanted to be able to do everything myself... i hate when ppl work on my car. most ppl are sloppy and are not 100% honest.

which is why i do everything myself, and if i cannot do it.. which so far has been 2 transmission overhauls, and timing belt/water pump. i take it to my buddy who only works on acuras and saved my car from being a write-off.

I decided to take my stock resonator off, it sounds like a g35 now and only has rasp when the car is cold, ill make a vid and post it after i get off work. Ive been looking at headers and there pretty expensive. You guys know any headers that are cheap but give good performance gains?

That was a nice, edited short film there Director Briggsypn... And bless you child for using your blinker!

If you like the sound, then all's well....

CL-S Pro, do you have a clip of your exhaust somewhere for comparison?

no i dont but it would not be a great comparison because my mufflers had holes in them so when i added the ct mufflers it barely changed the sound which is why i went for the cat. u may have holees in ur mufflers too on the top of the muffler facing the trunk.. i was wondering why my car sounded like a g35 lol and when i removed the mufflers it was clear lol

I haven't done a vid of my exhaust yet and I said I would when I put it in but all I have is a camera phone and I would have to hold it myself.
