2000 Honda Prelude...Type S?!?!??

2nd time I saw this car on the road...and 2nd time I could not really show him what a real Type S can do (too much traffic)...Dammit!

Is it just me or does it bug anyone else here when people do this? Hmmm...maybe I should rip off my Acura badge and replace it with a Mercedes-Benz and remove the 3.2 put a 55 AMG after my "CL"... YEAH!

Gawd, I hate ricers...BUT, maybe there is a Honda Accord Type S?

I know there is a Type-SH in the states...

I think there might be a Type-S in the older model, but JDM only

The accord was only offered as a type-R not type-S and that was only available out of the U.S.

Please don't hate on the prelude type S, because they do exist

Prelude Type S (JDM) = Prelude Type SH (USDM)

Maybe the guy is just going for the JDM look. People here do it with there TL's, Civics, and Integ's, and they get mad props for it. So don't hate on the Lude.

There are two model Preludes from 97-2001:

Prelude S (Cause all the entry level preludes before were called the same, but it does not say S on the car)

Prelude Type SH The rarer of the two

Type S is the JDM version of the SH as previously stated

Well, I'll admit it if I'm totally wrong here...but, I guess what got me was that his Type S badge was the same as on our cars (in terms of look, color, etc.)...Another reason why I was suspicious was because I went to www.car-stats.com (not sure how accurate that site is) but I found no evidence that a Prelude Type S ever existed...But, ah well...learn something new every day!

Guys i am certain there is no Type S. Only SH, and it was the same speed just had SPORT HANDLING package. That is where the SH comes from.

There definitely was a Prelude Type-S: http://asia.vtec.net/beystock/honda/preludes/

So he may have been going for the JDM look as mentioned by several people above......

Typical New York stereotyping of NJ. Maybe that :nj: is the reason why so many New Yorkers are relocating to NJ. :P

Ok... I owned a Prelude, so here's my splee:

There is a relugar prelude VTEC and a type SH prelude. The ONLY difference in the type SH are the handling system (special speed-sensing nonsense that adds unnecessary weight) and some cosmetic things like painted lower body panel.

There is a type-S in japan which makes more power... camshafts mostly.

Thanks Allmotor...you beat me to it. I was about to say the same thing except I didn't remember the lower body panel thing. Probably because my 1998 Prelude was black anyway and I wouldn't have really noticed.

Sweet car but it was 5 years old with 85K miles on it so I traded it for the CL-S.

Correct, thats what i said without the description the regular base prelude or S model and the Type SH with atts.

The Type S is japanese.

I too owned a Lude and love them, one of the greatest hondas ever made, cept for the 4th gen. Its like those werent designed by honda, terrible ergonomics and blind spots. I wish i still had mine, damn asshole who crushed it.
