2 warrenty questions

I'm weary about putting my CT tranny cooler on due to the fact that Acura may void the warrenty on the tranny once they seen a aftermarket cooler and Redline fluid in it. Any experience on this guys?

Also on another warrenty note, I'm on the verge of sending my ECU to Jet Chip to get a reprogram. I realize bolt on stuff isnt an issue but this is the computer. How will Acura react to this mod and my warrenty coverage?

Thanks for the input guys....

Unless they can directly determine that the mod caused the tranny to fail. With that said, if the dealership are asses, they can give you a tough time. In the past, were they cool with your mods?

Personally, I considered the tranny cooler, and I decided against it just to not give them a reason to bitch. I never had any real problems after the tranny was replaced until just before I sold the CL.

Reprogramming the chip may cause a problem. I know with the UNIchip, I had the option to just take it out, and I did when I went in for service. I left it in once and the tech came up to me and told me to never let it happen again, because the service manager are assholes.

Why not just call the dealer and ask if the cooler will effect warranty?

Ravi, did the Unichip give you decent gains? No, they didnt give me too much grief... The jet chip is right on the motherboard or whatever so you can't remove it. That would be a nice option if it worked good. I would call, but they'd probibly just say NO anyways so why bother.
thanks guys

anymore experiences???

Chances are, most dealerships will say any mod will lead to the car exploding into a big ball of fire.

I say, head in and ask one of the techs. They will usually give it to you straight as opposed to the service agents.

I never dynoed my car. But my butt dyno felt a difference. I thought that the acceleration was smoother and more responsive. Also got better gas mileage.

From: Pacific Northwest, blah.
Let us know how the Jet Chip works out...I've thought about it but can't find a lick of info on any Acura that's used it.

EDIT: Major companies like to hide the chip (meaning it won't show up on the stealership's computer)...or they have a on/off switch for the chip so you can go back to OEM settings.

But if they find it...and they can PROVE that it's messing with anything, then they will try their hardest to void your warranty. I wouldn't worry too much unless you have major issues with your engine.
