Okay Steve... thanks for waking up!

The AEM and V-AFC really made me choke

Was the older V-6 motors coil per cylinder? There are just too many variables here.

Not sure there but I did catch that about the MSD and wires. That might be valid though. Any 1st gens 3.0 care to comment on your iginition system??

WTF!? IT's kinda funny on this board. On the 1st gen forum, hoffhines just posted to a bunch of skeptical pep's who just wanted verify from him if it was true. Few pep's saw (from this board, along with me) him run the 12.7 and wanted to know why he hadn't posted in so long. I'm his bud and like to stick out for a guy. He's always travelin with his job and this board isn't his #1 priority in life as it is for some here. Me personally, i wouldn't doubt some guy on here if he said he dropped anything in his car. I won't doubt unless i had pics. So hoffhines posted pics of his tranny which i helped him put in. You all hate so much . The first gen dosn't doubt anymore and neither should you. oh, and you have to start somewhere, right? 1st gen is better base then a civic, right? don't doubt, congrads. If you look up on the blackmarket he's selling this doors, hood and 1/4 panels to swap with custom carbon fiber parts. It's his drag baby.

I think some of the early versions use "wires"...

Here is a link for wires for 97-99 3.0 CLs...

http://www.overboost.com/obs/product...c_id=&sc_name=

I do have a major problem when I see the MSD flag go up with the coil on plug setups.

I especially like the stories about how the MSD gets "spliced" into the current harness...

As I previously mentioned, I will reserve judgment when I see detailed pictures. I assume you understand that this is not a commonplace mod and one which would cost nearly the value of the vehicle.

I asked valid questions, which can be answered to help clear this debacle. But unless answered the whole thing sounds fishy. I would love to see this occur and have many opinions proven wrong. But I have been at this too long and have heard many stories which turn up to be untrue. All of which talk quite a bit but can never be supported through valid pictures or videos, or even other local members seeing the evidence.

Your method of conveying evidence also does not support the claims.

So you wouldn't doubt me is I said a dropped an LS6 engine and transaxle into my car even though it can't mechanically fit. Granted that is an exaggeration but you are the one who stated you wouldn't dismiss a claim.

More power to him if he has stripped a CL and done what has been mentioned. If it is stripped, that no longer is a full street vehicle but is can certainly be the fastest CL out there.

Keep a perspective on the skepticism, it should be expected. The decent thing to do is respond in a logical manner and provide evidence to the contrary. That isn't too difficult for a valid claim...

Well

All the power to him! But like Scalbert said... its the manner in which his setup is described! It just doesn't make complete sense. Maybe somebody worked on his car for him... and he just drives it and has a general knowledge of what was done.

I empathize with the guy because many folks gave me shit when I ran 12's with my Civic NA... quite a few folks figured I was using NOS.

If his (hoffhines) car really runs 12.7... that's great!! We are just curious as to what/how/which mods were done.

I mean... if I have a CL-S and said put aftermarket plug wires, replaced 4 cams and put a 4:1 header... what would you think?

I’m getting ready to put the 351 in my car… Still need to figure out how to get the CLS transaxle to fit Detroit Iron.

1-12-2003

Found a guy in the Soviet Republic that has offered a conversion kit. I’m going for it.

1-20-2003

Found a batch of 200HP electric motors for the rear of the car. I wish I had thought about removing the rear suspension first. Found vendor at Marina with used deep cycle batteries for rear motors. Guys at JPL laughed when I asked for a power converter that was small enough -- they'll be sorry ... I found some old and large knife switches to engage at full throttle.

2-2-2004

Had my friend "LA-Joe" come by and help me hook up the downdrafts from a Shelby Cobra to the 351. A good buddy turned me on to a friend that can modify the transmission with a couple of jugs of JBWeld.

3-1-2004

Hit Pomona and run first 8.9 second / 152 MPH run. Got tossed for not having roll cage and leaving chunks of JB Weld on the track. Be back soon with better epoxy.

3-2-2004

Went to Good Guys for digital camera and was mugged. All belongings except log-on account were stolen. Sorry, pictures will have to wait for a while... You guys are so untrusting...

SOVIET REPUBLIC LOLOLOLOL!@!

I just wanna see a picture of this 12.7 beast you all are talking about... If a CL has broken into the 12 second mark I would love to see a video or ask him the specifics of the car. I hope he comes back...

Seems that the only people who are doubting are using the evidence placed in front of them (in this case, his signature). So if it's all true... and you already have pics... give us a link!!

It's that simple.....
