1/4 mile at Sears Point

Street slicks were too meaty....switched back to my Potenzas and times started to drop.
The 2 time trials were awful....15.0 and 15.1...60ft times of 2.3...at 93mph!! I was a bit confused...so, I swapped the tires for eliminations. And as follows

First Round Time 7:27 PST
Dial-In 14.8
Reaction .589 (.500 Perfect)
60ft 2.301
ET 15.003
MPH 83.261
I passed the Civic up 3/4 down the track and coasted through the lights...thus, the low mph.

Second Round Time 8:45
Dial-In 14.8
Reaction .626
60ft 2.320
ET 14.853
MPH 95.215

Third Round Time 9:20
Dial-In 14.75 13.10(he did run 13.3)
Reaction .673 .467
60ft 2.314 2.058(he had 1.7)
ET 14.861 13.866 (he let off)
MPH 95.282 101.288
I raced this Subaru WRX...guy had money...he already had a turbo upgrade...ball-bearing turbos no less..about $3000 a turbo...and WRXs are twin turbos. He redlighted and I gunned it. The other side is his times.

Fourth Round Time 9:37
Dial-In 14.75
Reaction .792
60ft 2.312
ET 14.723
MPH 95.914
The guy redlighted....and I gunned it again.

Semifinal Round
Dial-In 14.7
Reaction .621
60ft 2.273
ET 14.698
MPH 95.977
I lost... .002 is an errant wind gust at my rear. The old man and me were head to head..I was literally looking at his wheels at the finish line. When I crossed...my side didn't light up and I was disappointed...than I got the timeslip and was even more disappointed.

My one question...I was running 14.9 with my intake and michelins. I shelled out $1k for the headers..yet, all the increase in speed and lower ETs can be attributed to the tires (RE730s).
So, what's up!?!

The headers give you a lot more top end pick-up. They are great for open highway sprinting and street starts, but they actually hurt you a hair off the line and make it back up down the track. I have spent about 2 weeks with the Comptechs on and these have been my findings thus far. before I release my header dynos, I will post Comptech flow-bech #'s, Comptech Dyno, Comptech 1/4's along side of Xephyr Headers dyno's, Flow-bench #'s, and 1/4's. But overall you had some nice time considering the temps and conditions. Congrats

Chris

As the night cooled, the times dropped..it was about 60 at the end of the night...I think if you want to run at the track...you need the L10 TC...if it raises your stall to 3500...I can see using the slicks again...BTW, the car runs best without too much cooling.

Agreed The L10 T/C will bring your stall up to 3500 so you can launch with some wheel spin and not drop down to 1500 when they bits. I too have found I'll get .1 - .2 sec better times if I make a few runs back to back and let her rip down the track. As far as tires go, w/o a lot of mods youre better off with more wheel spin then all out traction as the car is hurting in the torque dept. and generally sticky tires cause you to bog on a hard launch. Usually, better off feathering it out of the hole and then laying into it.

Well the weather is a major player... what is really killing you is the humidity in S. Florida.... It does not help anything LOL... Post some of your 60' , 330' 1/8 etc times and I'll try and help you find where youre losing the most time....

X32:

You are getting BAD launches... look here

The times you are getting in the 60' and 330' are very slow for this car. One of 2 things is happening ... too much wheel spin of the line, or your launching high and letting off after you spin and bogging down... give me the details if you remember them...

LOOK at those 60 ft times!!
No wonder your car gets about 14.4...hey, did you have your headers in when you ran at ATCO???
Now, we all know Chris' tricks...
