04 TL 6 speeds and Brembos
Well got to drive one today .Overall not bad but the brakes go into ABS very quickly and the car could benefit from stainless lines for the brakes .6 speed is nice for a FWD car much better clutch action than the CL/S 6 speed .Shifter is a bit vague but then again it is a FWD car .Instruments are nice but the color seems a bit uneven to me .I wish Acura would get just a bit more instrumentation .I would like to see a bit more info about what the car is doing .The sunroof opens up one touch and closes one touch that is a nice convenience .It has HID hi and lo beams with fog lamps integrated into the headlamp assy .Now you can blind people not only with lo beams but with hi beams too
.I wish the DOT would get with the program and change up the lighting laws to reflect the far more advanced European laws .Well we can hope .

Where is my super sauce?
Why would they go for Brembo brakes and not have the stainless steel lines? Is this a big brake kit or just the rotors?
Seems odd, but definitely a step in the right direction.
(Jens - I'm trying to figure out how to take my CL back to you for Konis and some level of brake upgrade -- just have to figure how to convince the wife of another major purchase...)

Slimey ,the 04 TL can be had with factory installed Brembo gear however stainless lines are not available .
NSX ,I am sure you are a good driver but you still can't drive a sold car .
Chaptorial ,the fogs look like highbeams but aren't .Pretty cool stuff those Hi/Lo HID's

Jens,
I had the pleasure to drive the 6 speed at the last ride and drive. I thought the clutch felt similar to the cls, but it definitely is an improvement. The cl has what I like to call a pop clutch. Wasn't too impressed with that. But the tl does have a smoother feel to it. The one I drove had the complete package on it. The handling felt a lot better with the performance package on it. What do you think?

Scalbert .as soon as i get one in that is not sold I will try to get to this .Meantime I need to research the part numbers and see if stuff works .
The rims probably fit bolt pattern is the same .
Stumpy I agree .the clutch is not perfect but way better than the CL/S with it's lightswitch pop clutch .The handling is good but a BMW killer it is not .

hmmmm...how useful are big brakes that are hard to keep out of ABS territory? Is this happening because the brakes bite hard and are hard to modulate? Or is the ABS system just to anxious to jump in? Honda never seems to get things right with brakes. Sounds like the speed sensing system/software isn't right for use with the Brembos.

Hey Jens.
If the service manual for the '04 TL is out... take a look and see if that clutch needs the dreaded tool for the install? It they 'fixed' the design... I might want to switch trannies or clutch etc.
