I'm going to tint my taillights on my car but I can't make up my mind whether to do the whole taillight or just the top half that's clear. I decided to use vinyl for a few reasons in case I don't like it, cops try to mess with me, and it will be a perfectly even shade when applied. Post pictures if you have any for example please.

 

Have you thought about doing just the red section? I'd want to see it on a CL first, but I have seen other cars that will have all smoked minus the reverse lights, and it looks good.

 

Agree, I actually saw on a CL around 2 years ago and it looked good.

Try to photoshop and see if you like it.

 

Yes I have. I actually searched and came up with a few pictures but none on a black car with 03 tails. I don't have any rear emblems only the acura symbol and 5% tint. I don't know if it will look too blacked out with only the clear part showing making it really stand out.

Ronjon has a black one with blacked out red and it looks sick.
blacking out the clear wouldnt be bad either. Dont do the whole thing though, but i know you wont..

Here's my ride. It's vinyl and it's not that dark, its just the background is bright. Its more of a deep dark red, like on some of the pontiacs.

 

I think I'm going to do just the red it looks pretty nice.

 

Haha, mine is the second one! The red tinted is the way to go! Vinyl is cheap and easy, but a pain in the ass to apply! Be patient and use a heat gun!

 

I really like the way MRDRDRD car looks from the back.

 

I just gave up and let a tint installer do mine. Paid him 20 bucks.
