And actually, while turning the CLS had the outside line which means it traveled more distance. Still though. Upper mph range, our car is pretty fast for the specs.

So if it was a CL-S stick vs. and auto Max.. the Max did a pretty damn good job keeping up for a long time until it eventually lost ground due to the CL-S's better gearing...

Get a Max 6-spd in there and lemme know who wins..

Someone show me where it says the max was an auto and the CLS was a 6speed cuz all I see so far is one max owner claiming that here. If it's fact, cool. Someone just prove it please.

The CL-S 6 speed with suspension mod better tires will stomp the 6 speed Max. The CL-S had much wheel spin something that some better tires would fix and the race would of been worse for the Max. When I picked up my 6 speed I brought my wheels and tires with me and put them in the 03' to get them installed immediately and I noticed a tremendous dfference in traction...yea giving me more torque steer

but worth it.

and you know this based on your extensive scientific testing of the two vehicles in a controlled environment with back-to-back runs, in both directions, multiple launching styles, different tire pressures, and with both cars at a full tank of gas w/ both drivers being exactly the same weight or within 20 lbs... right? Because this for sure isn't b/c you happened to know someone (if not your own CL-S) that has a CL-S 6-spd that beat a G35 6-spd on ONE occasion, right?

this is my take

since both cars are 260 hp fwd monsters traction is going to be the biggest factor. considering that the max has a lot more low end power then the cl-s the max will spin and spin and spin. although the cl-s will spin as well its the determining factor is who will get out of the burn out first. most likely the max considering it has no high end power. but even if the max gets out in front by half a second the cl-s will still catch up because it does so much better in the higher rpms (beauty of vtec) and i think the cl-s will definteley catch up and edge out the max(equal drivers)!
