'03 Air Filter

When the '03 first came about, there was talk of it coming stock with a different air filter/intake. Is there any truth to this? If so, what kind/type of air filter/intake is it?

It looks the same on the outside, but I haven’t checked the filter.
Doesn’t matter to me, its all getting ripped out for my Xephyr CAI in a few.
