'01 Rims vs. '02 Rims

i like the '01's better, despite the likelihood of scratching...reason i like em more is b/c the design in my opinion is way better than the new design...that lip around the tire just ruins the whole rim...and yes, no lip could = ruining the whole rim too

it's just that the lip makes the lines and curvature of the whole rim inconsistent...starting from the center working to the outside, the rim starts in, bubbles out, slides in, then at the last second, comes back out...'01 rim starts in, bubbles out, slides in all the way to the tire...i like that alot.

what do u guys think???

Nope they are different. I personally like the '02 rims better. The spokes are thinner and the lip at the tire is different. You won't really notice till you see the two together. It was the first thing I noticed on my friends '02 TL.

Dude, I realize Honda "owns" Acura but that doesn't mean the parts are interchangeable . At least take off the A on the rims!!!!

Huh? I was just at my dealer and I couldn't see a damn bit of difference between '01 and '02 rims. I even put my hand on the side of the rim and it still sticks out farther than the tire(???)

the 01 cl-s and 02 tl-s rims are different. the tl-s are thinner. i still think the 01 and 02 "cl-s" wheels are the same...

Yeah..I see the lip. I think the TLS rims are a bit narrower too, aren't they? All I can say is the '02 CL's that I saw must have been from the batch that were sent out with the '01 rims. Needless to say, I love my rims, it's just unimaginable that Acura didn't see the danger in having the spokes bow out past the tire...for shame!!!!

so wait a sec...my original point for this post was to compare the '01 CL-S with the '02 CL-S rims...i could've sworn that just like the mirrors were changed for '02, the rims were also changed for '02 and that some of the early 02's had the '01 rims...am i way off base here??? i'll swear on a stack people with '02's here have said they have the '02 TL-S rims

argh!!! now im confused as hell!!!!

Scooter.... don't drive yourself too crazy!!

In my post I was comparing the '02 TL-S with the '01 CL-S... I'm not sure if the '02 CL-S is 6.5" or 7"......

hahahha all these confusions. Good thing i never wanted a type S. well I wanted the type S engine, but didnt want the white gages, didnt want the black woodtrim, didnt want the seats with the holes in them(ebony is that what is called), didnt want the type S shift knob, didnt wanna pay $600 more in insurance, and definitely didnt want the type S logo in back. hehe , when the salesman kept trying to sell me the 2001 cls w/navi instead of the 2002 cl,that I wanted. I said that to him and he was like, ooooook i guess u really hate the cls then. haha

oh and the VSA, whats the point of having it if you are going to turn it off when u race?? when do u not race when u have that car??? I have only had this car for a month and im using SS 100% of the time now, never use 4th unless 3rd ends because the sec it takes to downshift is 1 sec that I dont even wanna loose. hehe

'type s' guys turn off vsa to race for the same reason 'premium' guys shut off the traction control when racing: the computer cuts engine power when the front wheels start spinning off the line.

well it goes fine about .5 sec behind u guys' CLS. haha , its ok though, i go fast and dangerous enough that everyone is glad that I dont have an S. Besides if i need any more power thats what headers/cai/res/SC is for, and i can avoid the higher insurance and the type S's stuff hehehe

I like the look of those wheels on your car, but you must lower that puppy (and those exhausts are just way too big).

The CL/TL Types S's have peforated(holes) leather seats.

The two interior colors for the CL/TL are Parchment or Ebony
