Some guy i see around town and played tag with before finally got lined up next to me with his 01 black m3, slammed to the floor with i/e. The thing is sick and he was like so we meet again i was like you wanna a re-match(last time we played tag on northern boulevard and he couldn't get in front of me) he's like lets do it...so we waited and....0-70 and he was already about 2-2 and 1/2 car lengths in front of me....so we stop he's like i really like your car that shit is a lot quicker than i thought, ive beaten mustangs but a lot more than that, he's like i'll see you around i gotta go and he turned around and went back the other way. Once again what boggles my mind is how SMG is supposed to be faster than stick....but this guy killed me and my friend lost twice to me....either way it was fun, i love losing against cars i like. Yes that is funny you beat one before and now one beats you by 2 or 3 car lengths, but atleast he did say you gave him a good race! I raced a 02 M3 and beat him not by much but I got him! Ofcourse I'm not stock and he was so it wasn't no nasty kill!

A properly driven E46 M3 wont lose to a CL-S. If you beat an M3, you didnt beat the car but rather the driver. In the hands of a good driver they will run low 13s all day.

j/k, that's the whole problem with these guys, spend the money, but still can't drive (m series, vettes, viper, [probably the biggest offender] S2000). That's the beauty of the MB and Jag groups. Spend the money and buy the e55 amg, slk 32 amg, or xj/k R and you've got all the power and an idiot proof auto trans.

For example, when my wife drove my SS at the track for the first time, (the 97 which was running 13.6-7s when stock). Sure her R/T was about 2 minutes, but she posted a time only .12 worse than my best of the night.

Anything can and does happen on the street...also, it's fun sometimes to inflate egos. I'll toy with cars short sifting at 4000 or so just for fun...then they run back to their friends/web board and post their kills.

Those AMGs are actually hard to drive. I drove a 02' CLK55 and with ESP off it would light up the tires with ease. With ESP on, the light would flash all the way up to ~50 mph, indicating low traction. In general though, autos are much more idiot proof.

i got one for you...im 1st in line last week at my 1/8th ,low and behold next to a GTP ...old guy driving it...we get to talkin...he's tryin to decide between pulley or N02...he says what do i run...i give him the scoop before the new engine 9.4 was my best but the guy who made this one says maybe 8.99 yada yada....so we go ,and i mean im on fire, the whole 660 ft rooster tail of smoke pouring out of my tires, im featherin it...trying to shift ,hitiing the rev limiter in 2nd....later he says what happened to me...i said you didnt see me? he says no...i was just one car back of him ...he had done a 9.8 or.9..to my 10.1...i laughed ,not at him...when he asked i had just completed my second 9.21 run...later went on to a 9.145 ...man great night...caught a .507 light on that, the last run of the night too...

 

Thats a fast ass 1/8 mile run....I bet the GTP guy didn't like that

 

actually driven right it usually does 13.6ish, seen them run 13.9 alot.

 

Either the conditions werent good or the driver needed improvement. They run low 13s in the hands of a capable driver. Check the Bimmer boards if you dont believe me.

 

I say with a very good driver they WILL run LOW 13s........Those SS & WS6 guys are reporting that they get beat by them. So its possible!!!!

 

actually mm+ff, guys that drive fast cars, fast ran 12.7 or 8 with one, as they have with LS1s as well. Similarly powered to the street cars, yet refined...but you do pay for it.

Was this at the track or street. It makes a difference. on the street reaction plays a good part. Unless you agree to race a certain speed and then shut it down. When I was Stock I would race my boys SS and beat him to 80mph but when we went to the track he would blow by me before 80 because he would watch the TREE and not we!!!

hell yeah, basic intake/exhaust/headers and i have spark plugs which really dont make a difference and it was 71 when i got it dynoed too, i wanna go back when its like 40 out i can probably break 250

 

dude, GS400, if you get that twin turbo set up, you will be king of all lexus's. Maybe by then I'll have the charger on mine and we can hook up to see who is faster, although yours will probably look better.....wish i could afford a lexus

Hey Alex I was at SRT today and got to see the TT setup !!! I got there before Mo so I was waiting on him to show and Heard those Twin Turbos man the car is SICK the blow -off valve sounds so sweet! I didn't get to ride in it but I know I will soon. It started to drizzle alittle so I didn't even ask!!!!

 

GS400_PUSHER - how in the world can your GS400 run 13.9 when a GS430 can only manage 14.5 sec in the 1/4 mile? Must be those clear side makers adding 400 hp to your car, right?

I am RobG - I once beat a Ford SVT Mustang in my Rav-4. It's the quickest Rav-4 in existance. The Jun sticker I added recently really helped me during the race. Another thing, it dynoed at 500 hp at the wheel, which make it 250 hp more than yours. Forgot to mention, it also has a three inch tip that added another 80hp. :P
