But also my Car was a 1988 Jetta MK2 with a 1.8T swap which weight about 23k .The 1/4th i ran low 11's with a stock turbo.

HPA R32 Twin Turbo i seen it in a real life on the track last year down to Florida and that Gti is for sale now 70k and its urs it was on the Fixxfest last year down in Florida..

I love CL-S but those VW's can be dangerous sometimes guys so wacth out

And now i sold it for like 5k so i basically lost 2k right there but then again i got this CL-S because it was a nice car and i went to this forum and read the posts and seen that u guys are really cool unlike those Honda Ricers so i finally decided to move on with the CL-S.. But i wouldnt also mind a 06 GTI now...

As if anyone believed any of the horseshit that came out of this childs mouth, I bet he doesn't even have a car.

Let's all hope since he's been exposed he'll stop posting in every damn thread useless garbage.

You don't need to own an R32 to make a GTI a monster. If you have 300 bucks for an aftermarket tune, you'll have a GTI keeping up with a CL-S without much trouble.

Indeed, an APR Stage 1 ECU upgrade alone costs only $599 and bumps the GTI's power up to 252hp/303lb-ft feet (w/93 octane). LINK That should be enough for a competent GTI driver to make short work of a CL-S. (I believe similar HP/TQ gains apply to the Audi A4 2.0T.)

There can not be huge gains made on a VR6 motor by chipping/flashing it, right? It only applies to the 1.8t. If you see "VR6" on the back, and don't hear a blower or blowoff valve, you will probably make short work of it. It's those pesky turbo's you gotta watch out for! What's even crazier is how restricted the new GTI 2.0t is from the factory. I have a feeling one tune is going to make that car into one HELL of a fast shoe.

Automobile mag--

"Volkswagen rates its 2.0T at 200 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque. Our test car put 178 of those horses to the ground, and generated a peak of 193 lb-ft of torque in the process. Those numbers are right where we expected.

Whereas most companies provide peak power ratings at a specific engine speed, VW says that the 2.0T makes its peak horsepower for more than just a single spot on the x-axis, and they're absolutely right. What that indicates, however, is that the computers took over and castrated the 2.0T. The horsepower curve is suspiciously flat and the torque curve is so perfectly linear that only a computer could be responsible for it.

That's the bad news. The good news is that-and anyone who has chipped a turbocharged VW engine knows what I'm talking about-there is a whole lot more power to be had out of this engine. Be sure to look for uprated factory 2.0T engines in the future, too. VW might reinforce the engine components, but the actual increase in power will be a result of a reprogrammed computer allowing more boost."

hmm...correct me if im wrong but the r32 has a tuned version of the vr6 does it not? Stock its faster then our cars and with a chip it will leave us..unless your boosting gonna have a hard time against r32's if they have ANYTHING done to them haha the 1.8t is lame..not the vr6....havent heard anything about the 2.0 making significant power gains yet..

R32 chipped doesnt get much gains over stock. Its still just a 3.2 NA engine.

1.8t GTI with software will give a TLS a nice run.
GIAC performance software for the 2005 - 2002 Golf®/Jetta® 1.8T smoothly delivers a 25-35 hp and 50-60 ft-lbs gain
2.0t A4s are running low 14s with just software, im sure the new GTI with software would be in the 13s for sure.

http://www.giacusa.com/giac_VW.php to see how much power you get just by software.

Look at that torque

You won't be able to get much more out of an R32 unless you go FI.

1.8t GTI is an extremeley capable car that can smoke many many cars with very little modification.

2.0t a4's are heavy as hell.

2.0t engine is insane.

lol thanks sellout.

Anyways be careful when you encounter any GTI. Personally I stear clear of them most of the time..my car is only about 175 HP. It only weighs 2700 lbs...but until I get my flasher in a few days, my car is not torquey enough to makeup for the GTIs turbolag.

You type-S guy's shouldn't have much trouble with one unless it's chipped, though.

Good Kill !!!!

A stock GTI is not that quick, but if you mod them they can be extremely quick .
