on the way back from daytona today, i came across a brand new altima ser. the guy was at a rest stop, when i met him. he said he had a ebay intake and flowmaster mufflers. as we got back onto I-10 we did 2 pulls from 50-110.
the first run was dead even, we couldn't tell who had won. the second run i pulled by half of a fender. i was pretty surprised. i thought those things were faster. later today i was wasted by a 3000gt vr4.

Altima SE-Rs are 260 hp and either weigh 3,279(manual) or 3,316lbs (auto) depending on transmission. Definitely a close match-up, but with a couple mods, it shouldn't take much to beat them with some nice distance.

 

i've always wanted to go up against one of those. nice kill there. what mods do you have o1s?

i'm putting my car on a different dyno on saturday. i think the 238 at the wheels isn't acurate. oh yeah the altima was a 6 speed.

 

...never heard of anyone having flowmasters on the SE-R. That said, the Alti SE-R 6MT should be able to take down a stock CL-S 5AT with relative ease. They definitely perform (acceleration/handling) very close to the Z and G35C w/like trannys. I'll have to check with the folks over at Altimas.net just to see if this was anyone over there.

Yeah, kinda shocked to, there is a clip floating around the web of a Altima SE-R CHEWING a 350z. I mean taking him by atleast 3...4...5 cars. It dosn't show what he has in there, but it's a clear vid and even the guys in the 350z were shocked!

most of those bastards just have a 3.5 V6 Altima, not even the SE-R. and they don't think much of our car cos they don't know much.
to tell you the truth though, i really think that a CL-S 6spd against one of those is a driver's race. stock that is.

the point is they are not that fast. i've seen one at the track twice. it was trapping at 98.4. that is less than 1 mph faster than i trap every time.

The best part is, if you look at the numbers, stock CL-S 6 and stock Altima SE-R 6 speed are about equal. I'm guessin most of the people that posted on that forum didn't do their homework. I've played with a few, but haven't really gotten to play since i got my headers, exhaust, and Tein SS-P. I'll definitely be posting the results if i get the chance.

it's only natural that they are overconfident about their cars. i mean they are relatively quick..most of them probably don't even know about the capabilities of the cl-s. too bad the cl came out 4 years prior to the se-r, and it still looks better lol (subjective i know).

I do agree that the CL definitely ages well considering it's been cut for 2 years and i still have people asking if my car's new (definitely people that don't know jack about CLs). I do think that the CL looks better as well, but for a sedan, you have to give the SE-Rs styling some credit. I definitely like the aggressive styling. The main problem with that car is it's price tag, in my opinion. Granted our cars (when they were new were just over $30k) cost about the same, but I don't think i'd pay that much for an Altima. I just have a hard time with nissan's mid sedan costing more than it's flagship sedan.

 

well tallahassee is a college town. always new people coming to fsu or famu. every semester the cars get faster. however my budget stays the same. i have the s13 and have the ls1 6 speed. i am waiting for the guy that will help me with the swap to finish another project. he has talked me into twin turbo and the engine is not even in the car yet. i have full confidence in him, and the only thing i am worried about on the car is the irs.

 

Kid, I've been on here, Maxima.org and Altimas.net since we were comparing the TL-S/CL-S with the 5.5G Maxima when each was brand new. (The timing of which appears to coincide with your fresh entry into puberty.) No one is boasting about which brand is better and to the credit of most, no one cares other than to get the whole story of this encounter if at all possible.

So go back on your meds and stop talking out of your "rectum".

yea i raced one from a stop... im not too sure if it was an auto or manual but i dont think it was a manual because it was kind of an up hill (nothing major) and it did not roll back but if they are quick they dont have to....anyway as soon as the light turned green we both pulled off evenly and around 10mph i pulled realy hard because my tires are brand new and z rated so i can almost floor it off the line without skidding out...i shut it down at 80 and i had at least 2 cars on him.... so they are quick but not as quick as ours...

Dogg, I don't even know why your trying to argue with the nissan people on there forum! There never going to believe you! Ive already tried when I said that my cls and my brothers solara beat a 300 Hemi C and that my brother did 140 mph and I did 150mph trying to catch him! Which I did and past him. If you beat him good kill! Nobody has to get on this site and lie about it! Ive already tried with the nissan forum posted the same thing and they hated on me so hard! Because they couldn't believe that a cls could hit 150mph and beat a 300 hemi C let alone my brothers Solara beating it also. They sat there and told me that solaras can only go 115mph! hahahahaha, yeah right, after that night, I never sleep on Solaras even though when stock there slow as hell. Understand this anything can be made fast if you put money into it!

 

With enough time and money, you can make even the most unlikely of cars fast. One of my friends from college has a 95 Ford escort w/ a turbo, intercooler, etc and at first glance, you wouldn't think much of his car. He still hasn't had the time or money to get it tuned and dynoed, but as is, he's taken RSXs w/ it. It's like an escort on steroids. here's the link to some pics of it, i'm pretty impressed with it
