01 CLS Navi Problem

Alrite guys here's the problem. Ever since it started to get down to the 30's and 20's my Navigation has stopped working completely. The screen comes up with a number of things like "The disc is unformatted, contact your dealer" or "The disk is unreadable" I've tried to clean the navi disk itself and also the navigation system and that has not helped. Anyone have any ideas? thanks

Sounds like the lens is fogging and the drive can't read the disk.

Does it get warmer or is that as warm as it gets? Does it work later when it warms up? If it does not warm up can you park it somewhere that is warmer to see if it works?

maybe its a bad disc drive? well you have to keep it for the ac controls unless you want to convert to non-navi

you dont need the screen to operate the bottom controls of the AC (temp, defrosters, off button) but you cant control the compressor, vent positions and fan speed.
