Had a new model mustang cut me off and pull into the turn lane. I was right behind him and as we entered an empty 4 lane road I pulled along side and both of us nailed it. I hit the passing gear just right and pulled half a car on him and when vtec engaged I pulled a quick car on him. After cylcing thru the 2nd vtec I then had him by 3 cars. At 90 or so I let off the throttle and he shot past in to traffic. I noted as he went by that there was a whistling sound coming out of his stock appearing tailpipe.

I would have thought that with only the six directing the stang I would have beaten him far worse. I have a pulley, intake and XS headers and my CL runs 14.3's in the qtr all day long.

I wonder if he had a blower as the whistling from the exhaust and decent battle he put up would indicate he had more that the stock 6 cylinder anchor under the hood.

lol i raced this girl in her brand new white v6 mustang last night, this girl i know from high school...totally owned her by 5 car lengths, you should have beaten him far worse

 

Mustangs don't want any part of the CL-S, people sleep on our cars because Acura is considered more mid-luxury than sporty, but we can run with the likes of Mustangs, which to me are still living off their past as far as being a sporty car. When I see a base Mustang I think of it as a common car like a Civic.

 

Agreed...I beat the previous gen mustang 6 with my 96 Maxima.

My Cl must be running slow for some reason. Just put a bottle of Techron in the tank to clean things out some.

 

running 14.3 you should be closer to a 07 gt. they run 13.9 stock and the v6 running 15.3.

he may have had a few things under the hood. but nothing major apperantly
