Well Earnest will get a kick outta this. I got pulled over last night for the first time in my Type S. I had a big regional soccer tournament this weekend, and I was driving around some of my buddies from out of town. We finished having dinner at like 12:30am at the Green Mill. I pull out of the lot following my bro (he has a 2000 Maxima SE) and we both have buddies in the car. My bro is in front and he completely runs a stops sign and burns rubber around the corner. I'm like shit, so I try the same thing, but I bog down becuase of the traction control. By the time I grab, it take me until 90mph until I pass him. I finally shut down just before 100, and I see my brother drop wayyy off, and some car pulled up next to him, the I see him dip off and make a quick right hand turn down a side street. I knew immediately that it was a cop. He made a small effort to turn after my bro, but he had no chance, so he sped up and caught up to me and flipped on his lights. I turned off the next sidestreet and stopped. This whole time I'm thinking about my other soccer friend who is a cop, and he told me, always be nice, polite, apologize, etc. just dont admit to anything. So he asked me for my license, I gave it to him. He started asking me if I knew the other car, I said no, but that I knew what I had done (nothing specific) was wrong & stupid. I told him quickly about my evening, and then again apologized, and told him I knew better (again, not saying anything specific). Before he walked back to his car, he said, well the original stop was for running the stop sign, and I didnt know which of the two of you to pull over. Then he said, I didnt get you on radar, but it looked like you were going 50-55. Then he walked away. My buddies in the car start dying of laughter, i'm like shut the fuck up, i'm thinking shit that was 40 mph zone (he asked me if i knew the speed limit or how fast I was going, I said no, I was just being stupid). So I know I was being stupid, he came back like 2 minutes later, handed me my license and said, well i'm going to let you go tonight, be safe, you're free to go. I pulled into a parking lot to chill for a minute, think about how stupid I was, and thank my lucky stars, all while my buddies are laughing their asses of about how lucky I was. My bro called me on his cell to ask what had happened, he was parked in somebody's driveway with his lights off, and laying down. Note to all who have read this, I have a dad, I told him the story, and I knew what he was going to say before he told me. I dont need to hear it again.

I wouldn't generalize but it seems to be that the cops in Minnesota are prone to letting you off with a warning more often than not. I can't tell you how many times I've had warnings, especially one from a State Trooper who said "you were speeding, but I didn't get you on radar" when I was clearly doing over 90. I've had lots of tickets in Minnesota too (Minnetonka, Edina, and SLP mostly) but the warnings appear to be quite generous in your state. Lots of tint warnings too. Good luck!

gotten a warning, always get those tickets which i honestly have earned.
