to my knowledge, they are deck specific. Is there someone that has access to the code, I would suggest calling him/her and get the code. I'm sure if you call Acura, they would have it accessible somewhere, it just might be a pain in the ass. Good Luck.

I think i remember someone asking this b4. Someone responded saying you can call your dealer and give them your vin and they should have the code on file. Hope this works.

I had this problem....I even had the wrong code! I had to take off the bowling ball trim and on the right side of the rasio there is a number--( serial number) on a white sticker....Call any acura service dept. and give them that #...They will give you your unique code....You can also give them your vin number and they can provide you with the code, but in my case the radio had been swapped out and I never got the correct code...

Good luck

that is kind of sketchy that you can just give the dealer your VIN, since that can be easily obtained from the dash... from outside the car!!!!!

I believe you have to give a little more info than that. It would seem a little too easy.

the story goes...last weekend at the drags i took everything out of my glovebox, including the little black book

long story short, the guy who likely has my book is a guy from portland that works at PIAA. so i gotta call alta sport (local shop) tomorrow to get his number.

i don't think the 10 oz. weight savings was worth it :o

Hehehehe a silent 300mile drive my friend.

Although with your car it should be a short trip, speedy.

He's going to use a Discman instead of a stereo.

mattg .. do not try to punch in random codes. You only have 5 chances, after that your deck has to be sent to Acura so they can unlock it.

I had the exact same problem while hardwiring my Passport. All I did was call my dealership, talked to my salesperson
(who remembered me thankfully). He got me in touch with their service department and they gave me my code in 2 minutes. Hope this helps you.

From the owners manual..."you have 10 attempts to unlock....after 10 invalid entries, you ust leave the car running for 1/2 hour before trying again--" or you can just unplug the battery! Best bet is to take off the center trim ( right side) and get that number off of the side of the radio--then call/visit the dealer--They will look it up

I did this last week...And yes, they gave it to me over the phone after they looked up my work # in their records

do u all keep ur codes in ur manual which u leave in ur glovebox? kinda defeats the point doesn't it? u figure if someone stole ur car then they have ur codes too. just a thought

the point of the code is so if someone rips the stereo out it won't work anymore. if they have the whole car, why would they need the codes

most thieves will take whole cars to places called chop shops where the vehicle is worth more in parts than as a whole. that entails removing the stereo which then entails using the access code to make it functional again otherwise rendering the stereo useless. what? is jersey the only place with chop shops?

I think mattg's point was....If they steal your whole car and take it to a chop shop, the codes are usually in the glovebox. Makes it kinda pointless if they know what to look for.
