*HELP* - Funny noises coming from engine

Well I know it's late ... but I got a little worried about my CLS tonight. I was the designated driver, so no comments about that. Before we went into the bar, we were sitting in the lot, I turned my AC on (I usually dont run it), and I noticed the engine working hard, but I didnt think anything of it ... just figured it was normal when the clutch engages for the AC compressor. So, now at 1 am, bar closes, and all my buddies want to see the 2 new neuspeed bars i put in today. so i turn my car on, they start blasting some greek techno, and i pop the hood. as they check it out, i noticed a loud ticking sound (sounds like it is coming from below the engine cover). i remembered the sound from earlier, and that my AC was still on. when i shut the AC off it stops. I figure next time I bring the car in, they'll look at it for me. Well now as I'm driving home (AC off) i notice a deep deep sound coming from the engine if i pushed the revs past 2000 rpm. It was very scary becuase the sound was remenicent of when i blew my engine in the lincoln. so i drove home slow, parked it outside, and I'm gonna check it out in the morning. I possibly may call Acura TLC and have them tow it in to check it out. Note: I got no check engine lights, or anything. Any ideas guys??? and gals???

Well my car is still making the noise I heard before I got a binded pulley replaced, so I just said Fuck it, I'ma run it till something breaks. There's obviously no other way to figure out what's wrong with it. Or maybe it's just normal to have a loud intermittent ticking coming from the engine bay when it's idling in a drive gear.

I have this annoying vibration, like a heat sheild or something is loose, when the car is in gear and the AC is on. I mainly hear it when I'm pulling into or out of a parking space (because the radio's off!).

I didn't notice a mileage indication, but are you sure it wasn't your valve train? If your oil filter is gummed up, or if you are using a crapy filter (Fram has a few notorious for inducing valve problems), you may not be getting sufficient oil flow to the valves.

I'm having the same issue, My 2008 acura tl 3.2 engine is making a loud noise like if metal plate are hitting or something. When I am at a complete stop the car shakes then the sound begins and I have to give it some gas or else it will stall. Is anyone else having the same issue

have you had the car since new? when did you buy this car? when did the noise start happening? sounds like a few issues, motor mounts and maybe a vacuum leak

Did you replace with mounts that had the vacuum assist lines?

Check your cat heat shields

Help me please My car is making this loud noise but only when I am in drive or reverse, I have taken it to two different mechanic and they have never heard this noise. I can also be driving and then the car just shuts off and the entire power goes out,
It vibrates will hard then the noise begins, I have changed the front and side motor mounts already

If power goes out while driving, you have an issue with your alternator going out, maybe loose tension on the drive belt, battery, or battery terminals.

wait..

Did you check the tensioner? I had the same ticking sound and saw that my tensioner was going crazy rocking back and forth.
