Alright, I want everyone to look at this link.

http://nexusindustry.com/alpha_interface_headers.htm

Nexus has raised their prices. The headers are now $750 MSRP. However, I have spoken to Carlos. I am in the process of buying about 25 headers. There will be no $300 deals, but I am trying to find out what Minimum Advertised Price will be. I am going to try and keep it in the $4XX range but as you can see prices have gone up; MSRP went up $275. The reason for this increase is: increased advertising, shipping charges, storage charges, customs, product duration, etc.

So what I need to find out is: if I sell these, let's say for $450 shipped, how many people are really and truly interested?

Let's assume that I can do these for $450-$475 range shipped and no higher. Who would be interested definitely?

hey excelerate you should try to get the price at least down to 400-425 shipped.

cause they are 475 here with free shipping:

http://www.wheelsnext.com/product.phtml?p=1085

So just 25 bucks off for a group buy should be more than that. Just thought i let you know.

450 or less shipped IM in

Try to get it 425 shipped.. be even better.

I'm in though. Consider this: I just cancelled my order with speedstash.com for $459 shipped to get in on this group buy! Yeah! $425 shipped please?

Oh I understand that that is where they are now. You have to understand the prices have not trickled down yet. I am going to try to do it for $450 shipped but their prices will be rising shortly. Alpha Werks is in the process of having distributors of their products sign agreements to not list below certain prices. They don't want AW products' integrity to be sacrificed by cheap pricing. BTW the next shipment of headers comes in in late November. So the GB will begin then. I am definitely doing this so I do need a real count of who is in and who is not. If this list gets large I may have to take some deposits to secure orders b/c you can figure the math. If I buy 25 headers and they're in the 4XX range then thats $10k out of my pocket.

jacking up the price?

I don't understand why they are jacking up the price. It seems like a bunch of BS to me. 450 shipped as a deal? if some one was buying for under 300 shipped how is 450 shipped going to be a deal??? Sounds like they want to make bigger margins based on what suckers are now willing to pay. Don't give in to the price gouging. These no name headers aren't worth more than what people have paid for them in the past. Stick together and you will get your market value for these headers.. Don't give in to this oh you are getting a graet deal for 450 or 750 retail. wtf.

Quick question, Ive had the alphawerks on for a guess a month or less now, but if Im driving at any speed besides from a start, and I give it just aorund half throttle, does anyone here kind of a metal sound going along with the exhaust note, it sounds like metal for a second and then is just the normal exhaust note, its hard to explain....also going 85 on the turnpike I think is like 2500rpm or something and if I have my foot on the pedal just holding the speed there is a very very slight drone, when I let go of the pedal for a second the drone goes away. Just things I have observed....

About the metal sound, I hear it and it seems like its in the interior cuz I can hear it with windows up, could it be the headers are vibrating underneath the center console, and my stuff in there is vibrating making noise? Is there any way of checking to see if the bolts are on tight without a lift.

Last thing is: HOW CAN I TELL IF MY HEADERS ARE LEAKING, SINCE I HAVE INTAKE AND IT ALWAYS MAKES A HISSING SOUND? Because the installer said he tightened the bolts as much as he could but theres always a chance of them coming lose and slightly leaking (what does the leak cause any long term problems)...my gas mileage on the highway is about 24mpg going 85-90 and putting in some 85-110 runs once in a while.

^^^ Could be resonance from the headers.. Do a search some OBX headers have that problem..

Not sure how you could test it considering the pipes get so hot so quick.. Hopefully others will have some input for you..

Jones, is your response regarding the possible metal sounding or just the drone(resonance) at highway speeds, which I already figured it was, but its not annoying since it is so slight

Metal sound?

You might have a leak.

The headers made my exhaust sound a bit deeper but no resonance or metal sound.

so red cl on the highway if you have your ac off and music off you dont hear a slight tone if your foot is just holding speed on the gas as opposed to taking your foot off the gas? How could I tell if there was a leak, and if it is leaking does it do any bad effects or just hurts mpg?

You have to understand that price is equated with quality. You ever notice that the Hyundai Elantra, which is the competitor for Honda Civic, is priced much lower than the Civic and as such people think it is of less quality. And why does SL55 AMG go for over $100K. Do you think it cost them anywhere near that to make that car? Do you think it is worth that much? You see, people equate a higher price with higher value. If Alpha Werks lets their headers go for under $300 then they will be just like OBX. Although some like the OBX headers on the forum, some regard it as poor quality, and price does play a factor. It is not to say that price is everything but price does affect people's opinion of products.

That being said, if I can get these headers for $450 shipped by the end of November then that would be a good price.

Hey guys,
I recently purchased the Alpha Werks headers for my 02 CL-S and I just found out that the rear gasket dont fit in the groove.
This is where the j-pipe flange connects to the cat.
Any ideas on where I could get one that fits ?

you really cant bad mouth a product that hasnt been in the market long enough to prove it sucks or its good. You have to think about it, if these headers do hold up just as close as the comptech headers then it WILL be worth 750 as like the comptechs are worth 1200. People are thinking 750 damn because they know they could get a used comptech for that price. If thats the case then you can get used AW for like 350..

Also because other people got the introductory price.. Key word people INTRODUCTORY PRICE........... I wouldnt think the company who makes AW would first charge 750 for headers that just came in the market.. No one would buy it. So they had to sell cheap to advertise and look its working.. Many people here on this forum are now considering buying AW headers. Or at least looking into it.

Im sure comptech had their introductory price once they first came out.

give it some time but 400-450 is a good deal for headers that so far as had good feedback.. and this is dating back in febuary when one guy here installed one.

Trust me wait for the headers you will be happy.

I think $500.00 max would be a good deal, but $750 hum.

Again MSRP on the headers is $750; that does NOT mean that is what you will pay. If I can convince the authorities that be, I can have the headers shipped to your door for $450. Nowadays no one pays MSRP. For instance the Comptech Headers have an MSRP of $1250, but no one pays that.

Excelerate, do you have any idea why nexus is asking so much for them? I have alpha werks and i think the quality is very similar to obx and those are only $300.. not to knock them, i mean i have had them and have had no problems (knock on wood)

Well whats weird is it seems like its just the extra vibration of the exhaust from the car making the back tail light vibrate when i give it some gas, I dont think its any metal anymore, i wonder how I can stop this.
